David is Sick.

Chloe should have gathered all her courage first to meet David. At least she had to throw away her pride after what she had done a while ago. Some people may be angry long enough for the guilty person to apologize, even if the 'victim' is willing to forgive her.

When Chloe opened the door to David's house, she saw that the house looked empty and there was no sound that indicated any sign of life. Maybe it was true that David was sick and lying limp in his room with no one to take care of him.

The door to the house was unlocked when Chloe turned the knob. She then entered while saying, excuse me, very slowly. Almost like a whisper that disappeared in the wind. Walk through the main hall. Her eyes stared at the only staircase leading to the second floor.

Chloe went inside while looking around the house. She had not been to David's house for a long time. The last time she came to his house was when there was a problem with Rayana. Come to think of it, the last time Chloe saw David sick was when she was 12 years old.

It was winter. Chloe is annoyed at Farren and flees to a park near her house. She didn't want to go back home and hid in a small round house —like a penguin's house.

Suddenly, David came across as a hero. He gave his jacket and scarf to Chloe. He was willing to be cold and wait so long just to make the little girl feel better. And the next day, David fell ill with a high fever.

Chloe cried constantly, watching over David all night and with her innocent face, Chloe asked David to get well soon because she loved him. It was a beautiful past to remember.

"Do I have to eat that disgusting food again?"

It's David's voice! Chloe immediately walked quickly to David's room and saw the man leaning on the headboard with a deathly pale face.

Chloe saw a woman placing a tray on the table with an annoyed face and sitting on the edge of the bed.

"Don't act like a child, David. If you want to get well soon, you have to eat porridge as well as your medicine!" grumbled the long-haired woman.

"Looks like an old grandma. I don't like this," said David ignoring the woman.

"Then get well soon, My Dear," that woman said, softly.

"Okay," David chuckled.

Chloe froze in the doorway as she watched a beautiful woman sit on David's bed and call him my dear! Even David smiled broadly, as if so pleased to hear that.

Once a jerk will always be a jerk!

Chloe clenched her fists in anger. She was so angry that she couldn't think straight. She didn't even know why she was so angry when she saw David with another woman.

"You can go, I can take care of myself," he glanced at the door to signal Maggie, but he was surprised to see Chloe's figure in the doorway. Standing at him with a sneer. "Chloe?"

Maggie turned to where David was looking at Chloe with a surprised face.

Chloe smiled blandly. "Sorry, I didn't mean to interrupt you two's time." She turned around to walk away.

"Wait!" David shouted, "Stop, Chloe!"

David immediately jumped out of bed. He almost fell over from the sudden dizziness, but he managed to catch Chloe's arm to keep her from leaving.

Maggie immediately stood up and watched the two of them.

"I heard from Anne that you were sick. That's why I came here to see how you are. I think you're better. I will go from here. Get well soon, David." Chloe didn't dare look at David. Her body froze there. Can only turn her back to David without intending to turn. She felt tears coming out of her eyes right then and there. Her throat felt full and it was hard for her to say any more.

David quickly blocked Chloe from staying. "Wait, don't go." He grabbed Chloe's arm as he tried to stand firm because of the dizziness he was feeling. It would be very strange if he collapsed and fell on the floor like a helpless person.

Chloe looked away, biting her lower lip to keep the tears from falling. She didn't want to look like a crybaby who was sad to see David with another woman, but it was true! And Chloe didn't admit it.

"Stay here for a while." Ask David

Maggie took the bag that was on the sofa and walked over to David.

"I have to go," said Maggie.

David turned to Maggie, followed by Chloe.

"Chloe, please take care of David until he gets better. He's too childish to take his medicine properly," said Maggie with a faint smile. David looked at her with a warning look. "Don't worry, David. What you need is already here."

Chloe rolled her eyes in annoyance. She looked annoyed at Maggie. "Who are you?" Chloe asked curtly. She didn't like the way Maggie said her name, as if she knew her well.

"Maggie Kaye." Maggie's hand was outstretched, but Chloe simply ignored it. "Personal doctor, David."

"Personal doctor?" Chloe repeated.

Maggie smiled faintly. "Make sure he finishes his porridge and takes his medicine," she said, patting Chloe lightly on the shoulder.

As Maggie came out of David's room, Chloe picked up David and carried him back to bed.

"Are you still mad at me?" He asked.

"Not anymore. How are you?"

"Bad. Yesterday I had a high fever. Drinking too much and thinking too much about you." David said. He could see the shock on Chloe's face. There was a blush on both of her cheeks.

"You should eat your porridge," Chloe said quietly.

"Thanks for coming here," David looked at Chloe with a deep look.

"David, I want to—"

"I missed you, Chloe."

There was something wrong with Chloe's heart, which suddenly beat faster than usual. Her chest seemed to rumble like there were thousands of bees nesting in it. She even felt her cheeks heat up like she was being immersed in hot water.

Chloe looked down. She was confused about how to respond to David's words.
