Arrival

I rested my elbows on the ship's railing and admired the glistening reflections of the burning sunset on the ocean's surface. It had a calming effect on me. The sound of the gentle waves and the feel of the occasional ocean spritz on my face soothed me to the core. I never knew I had such a love for the ocean. If I hadn't set my heart on a life of adventuring and discovered this feeling sooner, I might have ended up pursuing a life at sea as a sailor or fisherman.

Two days had passed since our departure for the open sea, and we would soon reach the barrier nation of Oto. We were initially set to leave in the morning so that we could arrive around the same time, but poor planning on my part messed up the schedule a bit—a result of underestimating the length of the journey and fooling around too much with my girls.
