Serpents and Serpent Girls

As the light of teleportation cleared from everyone's vision, they were greeted by the sight of a bustling frontier city. Hot, dry winds gnawed at their faces, and though the area was still quite lush, sand blew through the air and scratched at the skin.

This was the southern city of Lister. As a location that straddled the border between Veronica and Albion, the buildings were made more sturdy than what the group was used to seeing. Thick, strong walls held fast against the desert winds. In place of windows, cloth coverings flapped in the breeze and slapped against the expertly crafted stonework. Since the sun was much harsher, even on the border, similar cloth was used as overhangs in places where the foot traffic was most heavy. It was a detail that Raya said was more common the deeper south you went.
