Confrontation

Rune raced down the alleys and backstreets as he chased down his target. Even with Fleur's thread of light to guide him, it wasn't easy. Shad had to make it small enough to avoid detection, or at least that was what they hoped the effect would be. To make matters worse, It was dark.

With the Grand Cloister being anchored firmly to the sea floor, the level of sunlight that penetrated the depths was already diminished. The capital had been built in a section of the sea floor that was closer to the surface than it would have been were it built in a stretch of sea like where he fought the Horned Devourer, but the towering buildings overhead created many shadows and spaces where the light couldn't reach.

The buildings being restored versions of those from Ancient civilization were his only saving grace. The lines of pulsing light running through their structures at least prevented Rune from having to grope around in total darkness.
