"I'm sorry for doubting you," Rune said, holding her close. "And I'm sorry for not realizing what a hard time you were having."

"It's okay..." Rienn said. She inhaled deeply as she pushed her face into his chest. His scent was mixed with that of an ocean breeze due to his time in Nereid, and it made Rienn feel as if she would melt in comfort.

"Mmm..." Rune did not speak on what she had said and simply hummed in response while using a hand to stroke her long, silky hair.

Rienn felt her heart flutter, the words "be mine" eliciting a strong reaction from her. At this moment, she wanted to belong to Rune more than anything.
