Conflict in the Deep

"You are sure everyone will be able to get to safety?" Fleur asked. She was looking over at the injured soldiers with an expression of skepticism. Mako had said that the Verdania jelly-maidens had healed them enough to move, but she had her doubts.

Mako just scoffed and hefted her hammer up onto her shoulder. "Don't underestimate the men of the sea. This will be no problem for them."

Fleur still found it hard to believe. A few of the men looked like they could barely stand, but she accepted Mako's answer nonetheless.

"Just like we planned then."

"Right."

With their roles thus decided, Fleur and Mako walked off in separate directions.

Mako, for her part, busied herself with creating as much liquid metal as she could manage while Fleur readied her bow and began channeling her mana at the center of the chamber. She was creating a single thick and powerful arrow, though its size made it look more like a harpoon, which she aimed up at the ceiling.
