Gossips Inside Timothy’s Apartment (Part 1)

"Hey, have you heard?" Mason asked as soon as he barged into Timothy's apartment. He was not even surprised that aside from Megan and Timothy, Nic and Daxon were already there.

Once or twice a week, they always find themselves in Timothy's apartment to hang around. After all, Timothy doesn't seem like he minds. Unless he wants to spend some alone time with Megan which was always obvious whenever he would forcefully send them away.

It was not planned though.

Whenever they felt like they were getting sick of their work, they would call or message each other and would meet up randomly at any place. Either at Nic's or their other friend's place. But most of the time, they would meet up at Timothy's apartment.

There is a reason for that. One, they always find Timothy's fridge filled with enough cans of beer even though Timothy was just an occasional drinker. Two, with Timothy's job of knowing about other people's lives, they always find something to gossip about while in Timothy's apartment.

But this time, it looks like Mason got the gossip somewhere else before he reached Timothy's apartment.

He looked around and saw Timothy and Megan in their usual chairs in front of the multiple computer screens. Nic is sitting on the sofa and he looks like he is dozing off. While Daxon is in the single armchair…not Megan's armchair…with a can of beer in his hands.

Once Mason had got all their attention except for Timothy who remained focused on his work as if he doesn't care what Mason was about to say or he already heard what he was about to say, Mason continued, "Matt and Liv were engaged,"

Nic and Daxon instantly straighten up while Megan turns back to look at the computers. "Who told you?" Daxon asked. Though they had already expected that Matthew would propose because he had been planning to propose months ago, it surprised them that they got engaged just a week after Olivia found out about their illegal activities.

Knowing Olivia's morals and values, they knew that Matthew will have a hard time convincing her that he means well. Looks like they underestimated Olivia's love for their friend.

Instead of going straight to the living room to join them, Mason went to the kitchen to grab a can of beer from the fridge as if he was the one who bought it. "Well, apparently, after they return from their vacation. Matt and Liv invited Matt's family for dinner at their pad. And that's when they announced the good news. Yael told Zeev. Zeev told me,"

Yael is Matthew's younger brother who was close to Zeev, Mason's younger brother. They were also part of their circle so they were close as well.

Mason walked toward them and sat beside Nic, deliberately avoiding Megan's chair.

After recovering from the sudden news, Nic leaned back again on the backrest of the sofa and said, "It was bound to happen," They all grew up together so he knew Matthew. He knows that he will never stop and will do anything for Olivia to accept him despite his unlawful actions.

Daxon, who was watching Mason, as if waiting for more news about Matthew and Olivia's engagement, lowered his head and looked at the can of beer in his hands. Then he shook his head and said, "What a lucky bastard," Then he drank from the can.

His statement made Nic and Mason look at him. "Don't tell me you are still hung up on Liv?" Mason asked straightforwardly.

They were all aware that before Matthew started to take notice of Olivia…or rather, accepted his affection toward Olivia, Daxon announced to everyone that he liked Olivia and that he would pursue her.

Back then, Daxon said that he only said that to give Matthew a little push. But they were friends since they were born so they all knew that Daxon really liked Olivia back then. Daxon might really have made the announcement to give Matthew a push, but he also meant it when he said that he likes Olivia.

Daxon is a mysterious and eccentric man. He may have taken notice of girls and would make a compliment about them once in a while but it was rare for him to get really attracted to them. The only time he said that he was attracted to the opposite sex was back in college and that girl was Olivia.

Since then, Daxon had never shown attraction to any other girl.

But he didn't show any indication that he was still attracted to Olivia in a romantic way in the past years. Either his romantic affection for her had already passed or he was just good at hiding it out of respect for Matthew.

If ever he still has romantic affection towards Olivia, looks like it was not enough for him to steal her away from Matthew.

Daxon hissed at Mason and said, "Shut the fuck up,"

When Mason noticed that the couple in the room was not making a comment, especially Megan who is close to Olivia, he narrowed his eyes at their back and said, "You knew?"

Megan turned his head to look at him with an expression on her face as if saying 'duh'.

They don't know how the couple knew. Either Matthew had told Timothy. Or Olivia had told Megan. Or they just find out on their own. After all, they have all the ways of finding out. Especially when Timothy is so keen on watching their back wherever they go.

Mason groaned and said, "What's with girls keeping secrets?" Which earned him an icy glare from Megan.

Though it was considered a universal truth that girls…women tend to keep secrets to themselves that they do not share with their men, Megan was certain that men were keeping more secrets to themselves than women. Just like men tend to gossip more than women do.

They all went silent for a while with nothing but the occasional clicking on Timothy's computer mouse. Nic and Daxon had their eyes closed while leaning on their chairs as if their day had been too exhausting, while Mason looked like he was thinking of what topic to talk about.

Nic had been in his office since morning and he just wanted to take a break until he found himself in Timothy's apartment.

Daxon was trying to write a song in his apartment when Nic messaged them that he was going to Timothy's apartment. And since he just couldn't find any inspiration to write even a single line, he decided to take a break and left his apartment and drove to Timothy's apartment where he knew Nic was.

Mason on the other hand was just hanging around his own shooting range and perving with the girls who got bored in strolling the mall and found excitement in learning how to fire a gun in his shooting range that offers shooting lessons to beginners. When he received Nic's message, he instantly left because it has been a while since they hung out together.

After a few minutes of silence, Mason finally thought of an interesting topic to talk about. "So…what's up?" He started and looked at Daxon though the latter was not looking at him. "Do you have a new maid to bully and then fire the next day?"

Knowing that it was only him who is currently in a predicament about having a maid, Daxon opened his eyes and smirked, "No. I am starting to think that mom is giving up the hope of finding the 'perfect maid' for me,"

Ever since Lily went to Daxon's apartment after he fired his last maid and threatened him about making him work for his father's law firm, Daxon hasn't heard any news that his dear mother had found another maid for him.

It has been over a week and Daxon was starting to think that she finally gave up. A slow smile curved into his lips thinking that he would finally get back his peace in his apartment.

Unsurprisingly, everyone knew about Lily's threat to Daxon and they were all waiting until Lily found another maid for Daxon and for Daxon to mess it up. They were certain that he would mess it up. In fact, they had already started to bet how many days until Daxon will fire the new maid that Lily would hire for him.

They were now currently waiting for Daxon to announce that he is going to let go of his band and start working for his father.

Nic snickered. "You make it sound like you are marrying that maid,"

Daxon shot him a glare and said, "Mom's words. Not mine," In fact, it pisses him off whenever his mother would say finding the 'perfect maid' for him as if that person will play a vital role in his life.

Without waiting for his friends to make a retort about the non-existent maid, Daxon leaned forward and rested his elbows on his knees as he said, "By the way, I'll be gone for a week. Or maybe two," Then he placed the empty can of beer on the coffee table.

Mason scoffed and drank his beer. "Is there anything new about it," Because ever since Daxon started writing songs, he would start missing a week or two and no one except his mother would know where he is.

At first, they would worry even after Daxon told them once he returned that he was fine and was just finding inspiration for the song he was writing. Until they all get used to it, they will just shrug it off when someone says that Daxon is missing because they knew that he was just somewhere out there writing a song.

"At least I'm letting you know," Daxon said sarcastically and then he stood up and walked toward the kitchen to get another beer. All this time, the couple who owned the apartment just continued doing their work as if Nic, Mason, and Daxon were not there invading their fridge.

Finally, Nic opened his eyes and looked at Daxon, and asked, "Where are you going?" Though he was certain that he would not get an answer to that.

Daxon shrugged his shoulders as he walked back to his chair. "I don't know yet. Our manager gave us a deadline so I need to write three songs in the next two weeks for the new album," Though there were a lot of good songwriters out there, Daxon and his bandmates preferred that he write their own song.

"Why can't your bandmate write the songs or at least help you with it?" Mason asked with curiosity.

Daxon has been part of a five-man band since he was in college and until now, their band remained intact and is currently at the peak of its career. Their songs and the members of the band itself had gained popularity and most of their fans were female. And it was undeniably because of Daxon.

Daxon is not the vocalist of the band although he could really sing like his mother. He prefers to play at the back as a guitarist. But that doesn't mean we would be unnoticed. Despite hiding behind their lead, the fans quickly noticed him, and soon enough, most of their fans were there just because of Daxon.

Who wouldn't fan over Daxon?

Daxon is a ruggedly handsome man who shows off a mysterious aura. And when a handsome man appears to be mysterious, it tends to attract more attention and even affection.

And though Daxon always looks like he just woke up and wasn't changing clothes because he always wears the same clothes, that doesn't deter women, especially college girls to have a crush on him, fantasize over him and scream his name whenever they would see him. In fact, during a survey, women said that that look of him is what attracts them most.

"They only know how to sing and play instruments but not play with words. They could try but they might come up with trashy songs. I don't trust them," Daxon stated nonchalantly. It was another reason why women were attracted to him…he is a good songwriter.
