Gossips Inside Timothy’s Apartment (Part 2)

"And you have been with them for what? Nine years?" Nic asked Daxon, raising his brow. Though they have been friends since they were born, they also have other friends outside their circle that they met at school or at their workplace.

Well except for Nic and Timothy. They do not have other friends except for those within their circle. They were just too distrustful to befriend others.

But the same cannot be said for Daxon. He may be an odd man but he has gained friends. Only because they were his bandmates. But he was not as close to them as he is with his friends in his circles. And obviously, he doesn't trust them enough.

"Ten," Daxon corrected his cousin. He met his bandmates when they were in high school and formed a band since then. It has been ten years. And it was enough time for Daxon to know them. "That is why I know not to trust them when it comes to writing songs,"

Mason chuckled and leaned his back. "I have a strong feeling that your band will fall once you took over your father's law firm and stop writing songs,"

Daxon threw him an annoyed glare. "I will not stop writing songs," He knew that he was not going to be with his band forever. He knew that there will come a time when he will have to give up his career as a musician. One of the reasons is his family's law firm. He knew and he had prepared himself to take over in the future. Another reason is that…he knew that in the entertainment industry, not everything is permanent. It is not always that he is at the top. There will come a day when his star will fade to give way to younger aspirants.

But that doesn't mean he would stop writing songs. He could still write songs but not for the band but for other deserving singers.

While they were talking about Daxon and his band's future, Nic seemed to have caught something in the computer screens of Megan who had now completely ignored their presence.

Though Megan is a full-time police officer, at home whenever she doesn't have anything to do, she would help Timothy in his job and other…activities. But Timothy was not forcing her. If it was him, he would rather she sleep all day during her day off or maybe visit her mother and friends.

But there were days that Megan's mother and friends were not available so she would rather stay at home. And when at home, she doesn't like just sitting around doing nothing. So, she would help Timothy.

And there were times when Timothy's job was related to her job. So, it was like hitting two birds with one stone.

"What's that?" Nic asked which gained the attention of Mason and Daxon.

Daxon, who was closer to Timothy and Megan, looked at the computer screens and noticed one of the screens showing a mugshot of a man with greasy long hair that reached above his shoulder. His downturned eyes looked a little bit disturbing as he looked at the camera. His facial hair almost covered his lips and half of his face.

"More like, who's that?" Daxon asked with curiosity.

"Wyatt Ho," Megan turned her chair to face her curious friends. "He is detained for attempting to kidnap a 10-year-old girl who was walking home from school. He confessed that he plans to sell the girl to a man named Leonid,"

At the mention of the name Leonid, Mason instantly cursed. "What the fuck?!"

While Nic has a grim expression on his face and Daxon looks confused.

Daxon turn to look at Timothy who was still facing the computers and asked, "Why can't we locate that fucking man yet?" After they caught and brought Jove Latimer into the underground facility, they were set on finding his stepbrother, Leonid.

Leonid is operating a small illegal drug smuggling ring. So he is not on the list of their targets because their targets are those who abuse women and children. And so far, they haven't found any records or complaints about Leonid abusing women and children.

But that doesn't mean they would just let him out off the hook. They will have to monitor his activities…especially Megan, because he is still operating an organized crime group. And it is Megan's job to stop and apprehend them.

But ever since Jove Latimer's 'disappearance', Leonid seemed to vanish as well. And no, he was not yet at the underground facility.

That is why Timothy said that he will take care of finding Leonid. But it seems he hasn't found him yet. So, it was shocking and suspicious news to them to hear that someone said they were going to sell a girl to Leonid.

Megan glared at Daxon who talks as if Timothy was not doing anything when in fact, he was doing everything, nonstop. "Timothy was already tracking Leonid. The last time he was seen was at the border. It looks like he was planning to cross the border in the next few days," She said.

"Do you think someone tipped him that there will be people who are after him?" Mason asked while rubbing his chin. Though Jove Latimer's assistant announced that he was missing, after the police issued an arrest warrant, people started to speculate that he was hiding.

But for people who knew Jove Latimer and his dirty secrets, it was easy for them to think of the possibility that someone took Jove Latimer.

And since Leonid was working with Jove Latimer, he might think that there is someone out there who is after him as well.

"He must have already known that his brother is not missing. Since they were business partners in that smuggling ring, he was probably thinking that the same people who took Jove Latimer would come after him. So…he was on the run," Daxon said.

"Smart thinking…but not smart enough," Nic said.
