Just When She Thought Everything Is Perfect (Part 1)

Two weeks have quickly and easily gone by. Olivia and Matthew's small yet memorable vacation ended and they were back three days ago. Two nights ago, they held that dinner with Matthew's family at Matthew's pad, which he now shared with Olivia.

Since Matthew cannot cook, Olivia cooked everything because she doesn't want to serve Matthew's family take-out foods, especially on an occasion like that. For some reason, Olivia felt like she needed to impress them when in fact, she didn't need to. She has been a part of their family ever since Matthew introduced her to them.

But still, Olivia made an effort to cook the meal they had for dinner.

Matthew helped her, though only in the chopping of vegetables part. But since he only had a few vegetables to chop, he didn't really do anything much. Except for going out to buy wine and picking up the strawberry cheesecake that Olivia ordered at Elizabeth's cafe for dessert. Olivia can cook but she doesn't trust herself in making desserts. That is why she loved going to Elizabeth's cafe.

Olivia made baked barbeque ribs and paired them with mac and cheese. She also made potato salad which Belle said was the best potato salad she had ever tasted. But Olivia doubts that. Sadie's has potato salad on their menu and she was in love with it. Her potato salad was nothing compared to Sadie's. She is sure that Belle had tasted it as well so she was certain that Belle was just being partial to her.

Olivia doesn't know what she did in the past to earn her such affection and treatment from Matthew's family.

At the time of dinner, Belle had been glancing in Matthew and Olivia's direction and the way she was glancing at them made the newly engaged couple certain that more or less, Belle already had an idea of what the dinner was for.

And when they finally broke the news by the end of the dinner, Arthur, Matthew's father had to restrain Belle in her seat because she was about to jump up and down wearing high heels.

But Arthur wasn't able to stop Belle from hugging Olivia tightly. Belle said that she is not going to say 'welcome to the family' because she already did when Matthew introduced her to them.

To Belle, Olivia was already a part of their family married or not.

Matthew and Olivia received congratulations from Arthur and Yael, Matthew's younger brother. Yael even joked that he was glad that Matthew finally got the courage to propose because if he didn't in the next few days, Yael will do the proposal which earned him a smack on his head.

At the end of the night, Belle was so excited talking about wedding preparations and even begged Olivia to include her in the planning and preparations. Olivia was actually planning to ask her because she cannot do all the preparation alone, so she gladly said yes.

Unfortunately, the days of fun have to end to face reality. Both Matthew and Olivia have to go back to work. Not that they hate their work, it was just…having days without thinking about work was kind of addicting.

"Are you sure you are okay to go back to work?" Matthew asked from behind Olivia while she was putting on mascara in front of the mirror. Naturally, Matthew's bedroom doesn't have a vanity so Olivia has to use the mirror in the bathroom which she doesn't mind and she will not ask Matthew to have a vanity in their room.

Back in her apartment, she also doesn't have a vanity because she is not someone who spends a lot of time putting makeup on her face. The mirror in the bathroom is enough for her.

Olivia looked at Matthew's reflection in the mirror. He was already dressed in his usual working attire which was khaki pants and a navy blue dress shirt with the top button undone. His hair was a little bit messy but not too much as if he just came out of bed. He just made it that way to keep the casual yet business-like look. Olivia pursed her lips because Matthew looked so handsome. Too handsome in fact that she was certain he would catch every woman's attention in his office.

But though Olivia was a jealous type of woman, she is not the kind that unnecessarily gets jealous. She knew that Matthew was loyal to her. "I'm fine, babe. Don't worry about me. And besides, I had the greatest vacation of my life. Thanks to you," She said with a huge smile on her face. She might be sad that her vacation had come to an end, but she was also happy because it was the best vacation she had ever had.

Matthew smirked and pulled himself away from the tiled wall of the bathroom. He walked toward Olivia and wrapped his arms around her waist from behind. "You know…" He started as he pulled Olivia's hair to the side so that the skin of her neck was exposed for him, "...we can extend that great vacation…" He continued and then he trailed kisses to the skin behind her ear down to her neck and then her exposed shoulder since she was wearing a satin spaghetti strap blouse. He made a mental note to pick a blazer for her to cover her exposed skin because there is no way he is going to let her out of the house like that.

As much as Olivia was enjoying Matthew's playful yet sinful lips on her skin to the point that she had started to close her eyes and moan, she had to stop him before it got heated. She opened her eyes and turned around to face him. Now she is trapped between his body and the granite counter. "Babe! We need to work or else we'll find ourselves in the streets begging for a piece of bread in the next few months," She playfully glared at Matthew whose hands were now on her waist.
