The Intruder In The Corner

Away from the island, at the center of the city, occasional lights were still on in some of the offices in the buildings. Either some people stayed to work overtime and didn't notice the time or the lights were left open. Some might have even decided to stay in their office to spend the night, which was not uncommon. Those were probably the workaholic people who don't have a family waiting for them at home or maybe they have but they were not in a good relationship and were using their office as an escape route.

Below those buildings, the famous cafe that serves most of the corporate employees working around the district their breakfast, snacks, even lunch and dinner is already closed but the kitchen lights were still on.

Elizabeth Ogden has her sleeves rolled up to her elbow. Her brown apron with the logo of her cafe has specks of flour in it. Even her face has specks of flour. Her hair is tied up in a messy bun secured by a hair net.
