Strange way to propose

I looked around. It was mostly colored pink and blue everywhere, especially walls because of the lights. Quite common lightning, I must say. The black floor and equipment of same colour suited it perfectly. And the dance floor was somehow silver, kind of shiny silver.

Our first stop was a bar where we ordered some blue drinks, the name of them I forgot as soon as Dami said it. Although it was not what I would have given myself if I was the one who was to make a decision of ordering, I had to admit that it was a good choice. Sweet but in pretty good way with some more taste that I couldn´t figure out.

I turned my back to the black bar a little more and looked around the dance floor. It looked like it was just getting started here so there were only a few people. A few others were at the bar or chatting on the side or sitting at the few tables that were here. People probably rather came to a full party around here.

"Do you like it?" asked Dami.

With a shrug I finished my drink, wondering if I should have another one or wait a while before something more finally started to happen in here.

After a few more minutes, even more interesting pieces of music started to play. They had a good DJ here that I couldn´t find with my eyes while looking around. Not that I needed to see the person so much. Just a little curiosity.

"I'll go to say hello to some friends now. Bein´ right back."

After a while, I had maybe the third drink in me and watched as more and more people danced on the dance floor in shining lights. I was wondering if I should go there alone and maybe catch someone or go on it differently.

"...alone?" I heard next to me so I looked at the unknown figure in a quiet question.

A girl maybe of the same age as me with black short hair in a dress of the same color. I scanned her from head to toe before looking back at her face while raising a questioning eyebrow. I didn't want to say something nasty as first words.

"Would you like some, too?" she asked, offering me one of the two orange-colored drinks in her hands. So I took one of them with a silent 'thank you' and waited to see what would come out of her mouth next.

As we both drank, she finally spoke again, "I've never seen you here."

"And? Do you want to dance with a stranger?" I asked with raised eyebrows and noticed how she smiled slightly:

"Strange way to propose, but yes."

I giggled and finished my drink, staring into the space in the room full of dancing people again. I didn't say anything nice or revolutionary, but it probably worked anyway. How funny.

The nameless girl also finished her drink and extended her hand for a shake: "I'm Izumi. And you?"

"Rayne," I replied, shaking her hand.

Izumi nodded with a little smile, but apparently she wasn't going to let go of my hand as she pulled me towards the dance floor and the crowd of people. I went with that and followed her until we were among quite a number of dancing bodies. Nothing great for me but going out of our comfort zones can be good sometimes.

Some slower music just started playing, so I slowly placed my hands on Izumi's hips as soon as she let go of me and turned to face me. Another smile spread across her face at my gesture as she placed her hands on my shoulders.

We swayed to the rhythm of the music while the colored lights slowly flew over us from one side to the other, crossing in the middle and so on. The evening was just beginning, but some of the people around seemed to be already in the mood, sticking their tongues down the throats of others. Get a room, morons.

Izumi said something to me from time to time, but it was more like her way to come closer and closer to me until we were almost squished together and I wondered how much she had drunk. I had only a few drinks so far and I had no thoughts of doing anything yet, so I tried to distance myself from her for a while.

It didn't take long before the music was fast again, the lights were flashing and flying from side to side, and I had a little more of drinks in me. And I only met Dami for a few seconds before we said to each other that we were going our separate ways. I could be sad as my friend left me alone, however, I had enough people around.

My night of day of no-work looked like I stood at a bar for a while and chatted with two girls - one of them was Izumi, the other introduced herself as Sky. And there was Alex too, who was someone who introduced himself with quite a funny way - bumping into me to the point we almost fell on the floor. Or I spent time with the three of them on the dance floor, like right now.

There was some loud song playing that I didn't know at all and a bunch of people were jumping around which I definitely didn't want to do. Catching the rhythm by trying to dance to the given piece was quite a challenge. However, no one obviously didn't care what others were doing. And i really liked that.

So I was just hoping that something else would start playing quickly during the crazy dance, which came true after a while. And then a slow song started playing again, to which most of the people remained on the dance floor only in pairs.

Izumi and the other girl separated from us and danced in an embrace a little further away, leaving me with Alex, with whom I had no idea how to behave like. Whether to dance with them as a girl or a guy's way. Was there anything between?

Luckily for me, Alex probably saw it on my face and they wrapped their arms around my neck, so I put mine around their waist and followed the rhythm. Another amazing thing was that this person wasn't very tall either, so I could look into the space of the room around us. Just as I liked it.

I glanced at the people from one side to the other, and was startled when I saw familiar eyes at the bar where I had been just a short while ago. I couldn't believe how this world was functioning because I didn't believe in fate and things like that. And that coincidence was not very pleasant.

I blinked to make sure I wasn't seeing things wrong. Then I stopped paying attention to my dance partner and raised my eyebrows in a quiet question at Damien as he smirked with his head tilted slightly to the side. I din´t know what but something was different about him... or maybe he just looked better in that white shirt of his which looked quite fancy not like those boring which wear most of those suits guys.

I looked around again, but I couldn't see his friend or Yuki anywhere. He was probably here alone or had other friends, which I felt sorry for in that case. Then I moved my gaze back to the guy with dark curly hair who was drinking from his glass still looking my direction. I rolled my eyes and looked away. But I had to think about how lucky I really am. Ironically, of course.

However, after a few seconds I caught myself and Damien staring at each other again while I moved to the rhythm of the still slow music in Alex's presence. They probably didn't notice my inattention, or didn't show it in any way.

I myself had no idea what kind of silent conversation was going on between me and the person standing at the bar with a drink in their hand. It was really weird to me to see him in this place... on this layer. This place was fancy enough but he was still from Sky part where were better clubs.

"Rayne?" Izumi called, drawing my attention back into the reality. I looked at her with a raised eyebrow.

"Huh?"

"Shall we go for a drink?"

I nodded and looked at Alex standing in front of me. They looked at me inquisitively, but I tried not to pay attention to that. I preferred to concentrate on the following journey to the bar, where all four of us ordered drinks a few minutes later.

The drink was again some crazy color. Green. With furrowed brows, I observed the thing in the glass and a piece of fruit. It seemed a little poisonous, but since everyone drank it, I took some sips too and hoped I wouldn't end up lying dead somewhere around.

The thing was surprisingly good and after a few minutes we ordered it again while the three of them had some conversation that was a bit foreign to me so I just watched the bartenders doing their job.
