Chapter 18 - A Special Visit

A knock on the door to her room— which was still a prison cell at this point— caused her to stop her meditative training and draw her attention to the door.

"May I come in?"

Said a something rough but aged voice of what was clearly a man from the other side of the door.

What surprised her though wasn't the fact that this wasn't the same old man she spoke to often— but rather the fact that she recognized the voice.

'Holy shit, there is no way.'

She thought to herself as a look of shock and disbelief overtook her face, which took her a few moments to hide once more.

She quickly snapped out of it before the drawn-out silence became suspicious and replied to the question and knock like she normally would.

Not that the option of a choice was actually a thing in this situation.

"Of course."

She replied as she laid down straight on the bed— trying to make herself look as casual as she possibly could.

If this was the person she thought it was, she had no idea if her darkness illusions would work on him. Let alone how he would reach to them if he realized they were up.

So when the man opened the door and stepped in— and it was indeed the person she thought it was— she was quite surprised in her mind but tried not to let it show.

"Hello, my name is Albus Dumbledore, but you can just call me Professor Dumbledore."

'It really is. He looks just like how he looked in the film— dare say maybe even somewhat grander. And his presence, it was never mentioned in the films from what I remember but something about him just radiates power.'

She thought to herself as she looked at the tall old man before her with grey hair decorated his head, wary eyes that stared deep into her soul, but a kind face that could ease a crying child.

Dressed in a simple white gown— one would think he's just a normal old man if it wasn't for the aura of mysticism he gave off.

"Professor Dumbledore? Like from the stories?"

She tried her best to act surprised, though it wasn't hard since she was actually quite surprised and excited.

Making him easily fall for it.

As for how she knew about it— she made it rather obvious she was interested in him the second she had the chance. Asking for books about Hogwarts and even more so asking for books about him, saying she learned of him through the 'Hogwarts A History' book.

All to draw his attention to her using the connections he had within the ministry— all for this very moment.

Her plan was already thought out— leave an impression on him in order for him to convince the ministry that going to Hogwarts would be a wiser choice than staying locked away here.

And she knew just how.

"Yes, you must have read quite a lot about me— from what I hear you enjoy books?"

His attitude wasn't quite like how it was in the movies— at least from what she remembered. Granted she didn't quite remember a lot about him, as it was always diluted by the hatred the fanbase had for him.

He acted a lot more casual than she would have expected— but this made it easier.

"Yes, I like to read and learn about things."

While that reply might seem rather forward, it wasn't.

For someone who had no construct of a social life due to being locked away here where she could only read books, it was a given that it was the thing she liked the most.

Speaking bluntly was a given as well— aiding her plan.

"I see, then I assume you know about Hogwarts if you know about me?"

He asked with a hidden glint in his eyes that she didn't fail to notice. It seems he came here with an intention— just what that was she wasn't sure yet.

"Yes, I would love to visit it one day. It seems so magical and amazing."

She replied with a bright smile on her face, causing the smile the man had on his face to grow even brighter as if trying to match her one.

"Then, what do you think about attending Hogwarts?"

The man asked with a curious tone as if it was normal.

He spoke as if he was just asking her to attend any normal school— but Hogwarts was anything but a normal school.

It was the number one school in Britain and most of the world when it came to learning about magic. And it was led by the number one light wizard in the world.

And while his tone was confusing in itself, the fact that he outright asked it was even more confusing.

She honestly expected that she would need to speak more in order to convince him to allow her to attend the school. But here he was proposing it to her instead— amazing.

This made her plans so much easier.

"I would love to!"

She replied with a sparkle of excitement in her eyes as she looked at him, but that excitement soon died down as she looked down sad.

Acting naturally.

"But I can't leave this room."

She said in a disappointed tone as if all her hopes and dream had just been stomped out before her.

And it did just the trick she was hoping it would do.

"Nonsense, who said you couldn't leave? Don't worry, I will discuss it with your caretakers and get them to allow you to go if you truly want to. But you need to first promise me something ok?"

'Here we go, the real reason he visited me.'

She thought to herself as she watched the man and nodded her head, confirming that she would promise whatever he asked.

"Good, I won't ask for much— I just hope you would come stay with me. In a place that will be much more of a home than here."

The girl expected him to ask for something related to her— like not using her magic without permission, or even to be monitored at all times.

But she didn't expect him to offer her a home.

However, she could understand why he did.

If she lived in his house then the likelihood of Death Eaters trying to kidnap her would drastically drop, after all, they wouldn't be foolish enough to break into the house of the greatest light wizard to live.

It would also allow him to monitor her most of the time— if not all the time. She was still the daughter of Voldemort and Nagini, and no matter how much they liked to pretend she was normal, she wasn't.

Her very existence was something that could be a threat to the world. She could very well be the next Dark Lord if they played it wrong— so they had to be smart about it.

Which was why going to the house of the greatest light wizard would hopefully counteract that.

At least that was the intention they had— as far as she could see.

"I would love to."

She replied with a smile because this granted her a lot of benefits as well.

Sure Albus was the number one light wizard in the world— but he couldn't be at home at all times and had to still run Hogwarts— meaning she would have a lot fewer limitations on her movement.

And it was also because he was the greatest light wizard in the world that she wanted to stay with him.

Just his house alone would be filled with books and information that would be hard to get her hands on— but if she could stay with him she could eventually get them.

Not to mention the fact that she could learn so much just from studying him and his magic.

So she had no reason to deny the offer.

"Great, then I will be back when you turn 10 to take you from here. Bare with it for the time being because I need to prepare before you can come. I hope you understand."

I put on a face of disappointment that I couldn't go now to keep on the act, nodding my head, but I could understand why I couldn't leave now.

He most likely needed to convince the ministry still— which would take a few weeks, and then prepare the house so that no Death Eater could find it.

Plus her birthday wasn't that far of— just a few months away.

"And to make it up to you for not being able to take you now, I will leave you with a parting gift."

He suddenly took out his wand and waved it in the air, causing the entire room to suddenly change from the plain way it was before to being decorated with all sorts of Christmas decorations.

With a small decorated Christmas tree at the corner of the room that had some small wrapped boxes under it.

"Merry Christmas."

He said with a cheerful tone, leaving the room while the girl was still in a surprised stupor.

She wasn't surprised because of the fact that he told her about Christmas or even because of the decorations— rather she was surprised because of the magic he just did.

He wordlessly changed the entire room with his magic to how he wanted, with a mere flick of his wand, and if that alone wasn't an amazing feat in itself.

Which it was.

The magic she felt bursting forth from him within that moment was like nothing she felt before— it easily dwarfed her in power.

She felt so small in front of it that it was almost frightening.

It made her even more excited for the future.

For when she was that powerful.
