370. Biology I: Vampiric Aswangs

Vampiric Aswang:

Vampiric Aswang is the most common race of Aswang found in and native to the Philippine islands. They are humans who are some sort of hybrid Wesen, having attributes of a dog, a bat, a cat, and a monkey.

Appearance:

Vampiric Aswangs are very tall and have dark blue fur. They have black eyeballs and blue irises. They have black needle-like teeth, a dog or wolf's head, upright cat ears,  a monkey tail, bat wings, and a hunched back.

Behavior:

These Aswangs particularly seem to be labeled as violent and savage beings in history. But in reality, Aswangs are known to be incredibly humble, calm, silent, introverted, playful, and intelligent. 

Vampiric Aswangs are particularly solitary. However, Aswangs particularly live in families, having a partner for life and around one to four children. They also excessively groom each other if they are a family. Often, Vampiric Aswangs would have their leader to be the female member of the family, often known as the Alpha-Female. The female would rear the nest while the male would serve and work for the family. The Alpha-Female, often the mother, would be often more territorial than the male and are shown to be very jealous when their mates are with other men.

When injured, stressed, or expressing a strong emotion, they purr in order to ease their pain. 

Vampiric Aswangs are also known to be incredibly powerful and war-like. They are known as a race of soldiers and warriors, known to be incredibly brutal in battle.

Aswangs often snarl when they are in fights. When woged, vampiric aswangs raise their tails and hiss when to assert dominance. They also raise their fur.

Vampiric Aswangs also tick their wings when others of their kind are nearby. They tick their wings also to intimidate their opponents, especially if they are not one of their kind.

Often, aswangs in a family, called a flock, groom each other very well in their woged forms.

In hunting, aswangs hunt their packs and often sniff the air for food and use their night vision. They are known to observe their prey and pounce at them, being ambush fights, then fly away.

When their nest or flock is in danger, aswangs sniff the air and listen closely to their environment.

In human society, they are shown to be incredibly jealous, especially the females, often being angry at their partners more than their plausible lovers. They also show to be incredibly family-oriented and keep close ties as a family. They also show to have goosebumps when fighting.

Culture:

Vampiric Aswangs are known to have a secret underground society known to live silently within human society. These aswangs very much want to be humans and are very peaceful unless provoked. 

Naturally, vampiric aswangs are known to be mostly political people, because they have a sense of duty in the world, mostly due to their families. Often, they become advocates, teachers, lawyers, politicians, law enforcers, etc. They are known to be wise and hardworking people because of their experience with disciplining their own family, especially the women. However, hybrids tend to have different traits. For example, Gabrielle JoJo, a hybrid, is known to be incredibly lazy (but in reality is just easily burnt-out) but tries hard to be hardworking. This is because of her hybrid genes.

There are also vampiric aswangs known as Wieder Vampiric Aswangs, who are vegan, take pills, and do a certain exercise and diet to keep very healthy and avoid violent outbursts.

There is also a certain hierarchy to the vampiric aswangs. There is someone who rules all known races of Aswangs who is a vampiric aswang. He is known as the Aswang King. Every Universe has a different king. In Earth-Grimm, the Aswang King is Aswang Queen Gabrielle JoJo after Miguel JoJo killed Salvi (and Miguel JoJo is technically Salvi's son). After Miguel JoJo's death, Gabrielle was crowned Aswang Queen. In Earth-Prince, the Aswang Prince is Josuke Higashikata, who does not wish to be crowned. In Earth-Wesen, the Aswang Queen is Victoria JoJo. In Earth-WORLD,  the Aswang Princess is Victoria JoJo. 

Food:

They are known to be incredibly picky with their food, often favor livers, hearts, fetuses, and raw meat, and at times eat human meat. But many aswangs of the newer generation eat cooked and spiced food. Aswangs also have a particular tongue for bitter foods. When eating, they can use their long forked tongues to liquefy and suck foods.

Mortality and Lifespan:

They live for around 18,000 years and are young for the majority of their lives.

Reproduction:

Vampiric Aswangs tend to find "angry-but-silent" types. Often, vampiric aswangs find those who are quiet to be charismatic and attractive. Often, females are very jealous of their mates and protective of their children. Males also display these feelings, but not to the females' extent.

This attraction to the "angry-but-silent types" causes them to be often attracted to their natural predator: Grimms. Strangely enough, even though it was once forbidden for them to fall in love and mate with a Grimm, later generations seem to allow this behavior (much to the annoyance of the parents who came from the previous generation) and they have shown to have significant positive and healthy relationships as the Grimms often show their lovable and sweeter sides to the Aswangs, who show their secretive passions to the Grimm partner that they show to no one else.

Vampiric Aswangs give birth at the third month of their pregnancy. Some of them lay eggs as part of an evolutionary mutation.
