Going Back

A week has passed and Neal has already packed his things. Today, he will return to the Vespion's facility just like his old days before he met Ren.

The dim rays from the close window blinds gave a little light to his face, who looked tired from packing all night. He made sure that he won't spend another week in this apartment since he already talked to the landlord.

Besides, staying here will only give him more loneliness. Every part and corner of this house reminds him of Ren. He told himself that today was the last day he would cry but the moment he woke up and realized that there's no one who's going to prepare his breakfast, crumble him completely.

Neal sniffled, putting a packaging tape around the medium box which he used to put Ren's things. He even got these little things they bought back when they took a vacation last year.

Ren insisted on buying a shirt with the same design just for the souvenir photo they took. That picture was the one on the frame at his bedside. Neal scoffed a faint laugh when he suddenly recalled that.

Now that everything was put in boxes, he finally told himself that he's indeed going back to square one. Neal still didn't think of accepting another new companion because he still wanted Ren to remain with him.

He didn't live with him just because of his blood. Ren gave him a new home and a new meaning of life. It was enough for him.

Neal sighed and stood up. The coffee he made earlier got stuck on the table. "It's already cold," he lifted the cup and put it on the sink.

He turned the faucet on and splashed some water on his face. He didn't get enough sleep last night and the eyebags under his red eyes were very visible. He grabbed a soft cloth and wiped his face then he pulled up the blinds covering the window.

The bright light from outside immediately struck his sight. Neal winced and squinted, and as soon as his eyes got used to the light, he saw a car.

He almost forgot that the one who would fetch him was Hellion. This clingy guy will definitely tell him how he pleaded the captain to let him go even though the truth was he was ordered.

Neal sighed when he heard the doorbell. He opened the door and Hellion's flowery and bright aura blinded him more.

"Good morning!"

He greeted Neal with all smiles. His eyes peek and scanned the wide room behind the other vampire.

Neal widely opened the door. "Roam as much as you like," He yawned and rubbed his sleepy eyes as he welcomed the visitor sluggishly. He had no time to fool around the vampire so he let him slide for today.

Hellion put the paper bag on the table. "Have you eaten anything?" he asked.

Neal shakes his head and starts to move the light boxes.

A frown occupied Hellion's face while observing the male. "You should eat first. Look, I even got this limited edition morning breakfast for you." He grabbed two plates from the side of the sink. "Come here and join me. Let's eat together,"

Neal rubbed his throbbing head. "Just eat if you want." His feet accidentally kicked the chair and it wriggled towards the box.

He was about to stop it but he lost his balance and he slumped on the floor.

"Neal!" Hellion dashed to him and picked him up. He put the male on the chair. "What the heck are you doing? I can clearly see that you're hungry." he pinched his nose. "At least eat. I won't ask for more, okay?"

Neal winced and he sighed. "Fine," The truth is he can feel that he's hungry but everytime he tries to eat, he will end up throwing up. It's as if his body is asking for more.

Could it be that it's his time already to drink blood? It's been a week since he last drank blood. He can't deny that he might feel it because of his vampire instinct.

Hellion kneeled in front of him to meet his eyes. "Are you alright?" He noticed the big bags under Neal's eyes. "Are you even sleeping well?"

Neal just nodded his head again without a word. Because if he told the man that he couldn't get a proper sleep because of his brother's death, Hellion will only tell him to forget that human and find a new companion.

Hellion stood up and pushed the plate towards the male. "Here, eat while the soup is still hot." He gave him a spoon. "Neal, please eat and don't be stubborn."

Hellion will surely thank their captain for sending him here because if someone from the agency came here, they will surely just inject a tranquilizer to Neal to let him sleep and will tell the higher ups that he collapsed.

Letting this small situation leak out will surely cause another stress to Neal. The higher ups were very sensitive in things like this when it comes to Vespion. They will just put different apparatus on Neal's body for another experiment.

Hellion secretly clenched his fist. He's the kind of vampire that doesn't stick with his companion and only uses them for fun, but he knew that Neal is different from him and he didn't want that attitude of him to change.

"Look, Neal. I know it's not my place to say these words, but I know that you wanted justice. If you don't take care of yourself, then who will aim for the justice you want?" He looked at Neal with worried eyes.

Hearing these from him, Neal's lips curved up into a smile. "I wasn't expecting that I'm going to hear that from you." he mumbled before the side of his cheeks gave up.

He completely fell asleep leaning on the table.

Hellion stood up and wrapped his coat on the male's shoulders. "I'm sorry, Neal. Leave this work to me, okay?" he whispered.
