A Farewell

Before his very eyes, Daniel saw those memories of him playing repeatedly like a broken disk. His wife, who looked so happy and his daughter who was calling his name with such a cheerful smile.

He can feel his body feeling cold and his legs are already numb. Just by seeing that metal bar pierced into his heart, he knew that he wouldn't last long.

"Father!"

A familiar voice rang in his ears and as he blinked, he saw this face he wanted to see right now. A face that resembled his wife, the one who gave light to his life. Funny how he wanted to house himself after realizing that it was his daughter.

As he felt his warm arms hugging him, a faint smile stretched across his face. If he was going to die right now, then his last wish was already fulfilled.

"Father, you won't die, right?"

Sherly's cracking voice asked him. He hated seeing his daughter cry a lot, and he wanted to scold himself for making her cry.
