One's Downfall

Footsteps echoed and the atmosphere changed. He halted when he reached the long table, getting everybody's attention. He pulled a chair and sat down.

"Pardon my tardiness. I have some business I need to tend to." He said, averting his gaze from everybody.

A man standing next to the one they called 'King' cleared his throat. "His Majesty hasn't started, Sir Braedel. He bowed his head and said it in a lower voice, showing how he respected them so much.

"What are we going to do now?" The little girl with a pink dress, playing with her hair asked. She crossed her arms. "Beatriz was caught. Does it mean that our plan will not work now?"

Braedel smiled. "How about you stop talking for now, Rio? We are in the meeting, right?" he said, clasping his fingers and putting it on the table.

"Humph!" Rio snorted. "Mina has been humming and yet you didn't dare to stop her? Are you playing favoritism here? You begged me to let you be my fake brother at school." She rolled her eyes back.
