Mute Uncle: "Don't bother!"
Feng Yi continued driving up the mountain.
Unlike last year, there were no snakes to be seen on the railings on both sides. It was said that the management approach in this area had changed. A large batch of snakes from the reserve had been distributed somewhere else, and with the zone under new management, the scene of snakes swarming the protective nets didn't happen.
The air had much less of a snake scent to it.
Upon closer sniffing, there was even a faint hint of rat odor.
No wonder some snakes had "escaped" to feed on the rats.
All the houses built halfway up the mountain had their doors closed, probably because the staff had gone home for the New Year. It was very quiet all around, eerily so.
When Feng Yi arrived at the summit, Mute Uncle was lounging on a recliner at the entrance of the ancestral house, leisurely playing with his phone.
