Slytherin and Gryffindor

Hermione threw the door to the Heads dorms open stomped in, slamming it behind her.

"Don't talk to me," She growled to the Head Boy sitting on the couch with an amused smirk.

"Why not?" He asked in his arrogant voice.

"Because Dumbledore has finally lost his bloody marbles!" She exclaimed.

"Granger, he lost those the day he was born," The blonde boy smirked.

Hermione threw him a rude hand gesture before plopping down next to him, but keeping a far distance.

"Well that's a very ladylike thing to do," The blonde boy said sarcastically.

Hermione put on a face of mick surprised and turned to the boy saying, "So you're a girl? Godric knows you do that, in your words, 'ladylike' gesture a thousand times a day."

The boy scowled at her before saying, "Bugger off, Granger."

"Nope," Hermione smirked, "Sorry Malfoy, but I'm here to stay. I'll be right back though."

Malfoy watched at the beautiful brunette raced up the stairs and returned with a weird rectangular thing that opened and closed, some parchment, and two firewhiskey.

"Here," Hermione said passing him a firewhiskey before sitting down and opening the box thing. The top of it lit up while the bottom had buttons.

"What is that?" Malfoy asked, unable to keep the curiousity out of his voice.

"This is a laptop. You can go on the internet, play games, watch videos, all kinds of stuff on it," Hermione explained and she tapped some buttons and the screen changed.

"What are you doing?" Malfoy asked as he inched closer to get a better look.

"Well," Hermione said flushing red, "I was uh, listening to music on my IPod, a device that you can listen to music on with headphones, and didn't realize I was quietly uh, singing. Dumbledore walked by as I was and now he's given me the task of writing an entire song and preforming it tomorrow at dinner about house unity. And guess what?"

"Do I want to know?"

"Honestly no. Dumbledore said you get to preform it as well," Hermione said.

"Ah hell no!" Malfoy exclaimed.

"Sorry, not my choice," Hermione said taking a swig of firewhiskey.

"I can't sing, Granger," Malfoy retorted.

"I'm sure your fine if you can sing as well as you can out of the shower as you do in," Hermione smirked looking at him.

"How do you know that?" Malfoy asked his face lighting up as if it were on fire.

"You should cast silencing charms. I sometimes enter the dorms earlier than you think I do," Hermione said turning back to her laptop and furiously tapping buttons.

"Right," Malfoy said making a mental note to use a silencing charm.

The two sat in silence for awhile as Hermione continued to tap buttons until finally she breathed out deeply and took a large sip of firewhiskey. She then pressed a button and music started playing from the laptop.

"What's it doing?" Malfoy asked jumping back.

"Playing a melody that I've created," Hermione said rubbing her eyes, "It has speakers in it. They allow noise to come out."

"Oh," Malfoy said relaxing, "Its not bad actually."

"Thanks," Hermione smiled, "Only took me.....three hours." She finished after looking at the clock on her laptop.

"Yeah its late," Malfoy said. Indeed he was right it was now two in the morning, "Too bad we have classes tomorrow."

"Yeah," Hermione yawned, "I wish we'd be excused, you know? With Dumbledore forcing this on us with less than twenty four hours and all."

"Well we should get some sleep," Malfoy said standing, "Go to bed, Granger."

Hermione shook her head, "Between classes, your quidditch practice, homework, and I told Ginny I'd go to Hogsmeade with her, I'll have barely an hour to write lyrics and then for us to practice it."

"Fine. But no later than an hour," Malfoy said heading to the stairs, "You need sleep to function."

Hermione gave a small laugh before saying, "Night Ferret!"

"Night Bookworm!" Was called back.

Shaking her head, Hermione started to write the lyrics. By five in the morning she had fallen asleep with them almost finished. She had all the verses and pre-chouruses done, but she needed one more line for the chourus itself and she was having a lot of trouble. She had made seven different attempts before she passed out.

"Shut up," Malfoy growled as he pushed his alarm clock of the bedside table.

He then rethought what he did and pulled himself out of bed. 6:20. He had fourty minutes before breakfast started and he was hungry. He quickly got into the shower and cleaned up before throwing on the school uniform and grabbing his bag. By now it was 7:53.

He left his room and went into the common room to face a surprise. Hermione was lying on the couch with parchment stacked in a neat order on one side of the table and a loose piece on the other. She had a quill in her hand, and an ink smudge on her cheek.

Chuckling, Malfoy walked unto the bathroom and got a washcloth wet before coming back and kneeling down besides her. Carefully, Malfoy held her head still while he rubbed the warm cloth over the ink, wiping it away. He could've sworn he saw her smile before falling back to sleep.

Once he was finished and brought the cloth back into the bathroom did he realize that he could've just used magic or even left the ink on her face. Why did he do that?

He stood in front I'd the mirror, puzzled for awhile at his actions. What confused him even more was how her lips could be so naturally pink, and giw much he wanted to kiss them.

"Pull it together, Draco. You're a Malfoy. You can't fall for her," he said to himself, splashing water on his face before he left.

He decided to look at the stray parchment before he woke up Hermione. He picked it up and read through it. At the end he saw seven lines crossed out thoroughly, although he could make out the words Slytherin and Gryffindor.

A sudden thought popped into his head and he carefully took the quill out of Hermione's hand. After dipping it in ink, he quickly wrote the line in his curly and neat handwriting.

He turned back to Hermione and wondered how to wake her. Shaking he seemed kinda rude and his mother always got mad when he did it to her. Then he remembered a book Hermione had left out last week. He couldn't remember the name of it uh, Sleepy Beast or something like that, but he did remember he had read it and the prince woke the sleeping princess with a kiss.

A smirk graced his face as he realized he was thinking about missing her, but in all honesty, he really wanted to do it. He leaned down over her, smiling as her sleeping breath escaped her slightly parted lips and tickled his face. Unable to resist anymore, he gently placed his lips on hers kissing her softly.
