Her brown curls bounced and jostled around with every small move they made. Her eyes lit up when she started talking about a certain topic that made her happy or excited. Her lips would draw into a smile as she spoke, her angelic voice filling the air. She'd laugh every now and then when he commented on her stories, normally making a jab at her friends.

Her cheeks would tint in pink when she revealed something personal. Her dimples would show when she smiled widely. Her eyelashes would stick together slightly when she closed them to long. Her eyebrows would furrow together when she was deep in thought.

All of this was what he could study in one ten minute sitting with Hermione Granger.

After the war Draco Malfoy was completely broken. He returned to Hogwarts only to get away from his parents who were still feeding his brain with lies. He needed a place where he could learn the truth. And the truth became his friend.

Hermione Granger was his only friend. All of her friends had mostly abandoned her when she announced to them that Draco Malfoy was indeed her friend. She had done that for him.

"And then I just ran up and took his bag and started hitting him with it and then j there it down and was all like 'You come back after weeks, Ronald, and you say hey?' My god I was so lovesick," Hermione chucked, "I'm so glad I moved on. He was a bastard, honestly."

Draco hummed in response. He was only half listening. They were both in the Head dorms. It was winter break and they were both some of the few students who had stayed for the holidays. Draco was currently lying on the couch with his head on Hermione's lap while she absentmindly stroked his hair.

It was quite refreshing. His skin would tingle every time she brushed her fingertips against his forehead, causing him to eventually give in and close his eyes. He was still listening but didn't know what she was saying. He just wanted to hear her voice again.

"And I was still pissed so I turned to Harry, who had my wand at the time, and was all like 'give me my wand Harry,' and he literally sprinted away from me saying 'what wand? I don't have a wand'," Hermione laughed.

"So much for the fearless boy-who-lived, although who can blame him? You can be a terrifying nightmare when you want to," He commented.

"I'm taking that as a compliment," Hermione stated.

"You do you," Draco shrugged opening his eyes at the same time Hermione looked down to him.

Their eyes met and a spark shot through both of them. Draco slowly rested his elbows down and pushed himself up slowly until he was sitting. He turned on the couch so he could face her never once breaking eye contact.

They were both in a trance of sorts as they stared at each other. Neither knew who broke contact first or who made the first move, but one second they were gazing into each others eyes and the next their lips were pressed together.

Draco's left hand had moved to cup her face and he gently kissed her. He was using his other arm to hold her close so if she wanted to stop she couldn't run away after. He would never admit it to anyone but he had wanted to kiss her so bad for quite a while.

"What the hell was that?" Hermione whispered when they broke away.

"I-I'm not sure," Draco breathed, "But my Salazar I loved it." He added before realizing what he had said.

Apparently it was the right thing to say in his situation since a moment later Hermione had pressed her lips to his once more.
