Chapter 4: Camp of Emptiness.

I could sense the sharp blade engraving into the skin of my stomach as if I was going through a spikey bush. I screamed in agony and tears rolled down my face. I was in a helpless position being tied up in this pitch-black dark chamber. lt felt like months passed since I've been hanged up here like a cutting board. The only time I was somewhat able to see was when the knob turned and the Sergeant came inside to keep cutting my old wounds open.

I don't even recall when was the last time I consumed uninfected water. I often remembered the hot sunshine rushing through my body. In the mids of my remembrance. A sudden cold shiver ran through my entire body, making my legs quiver. I could hear the lock opening and the knob turning to the side. The Sergeant entered the chamber with the same bloodstained, blunt machete.

His face was happy, he had a big smile on him as always and asked me in a playful tone "Now tell me, your mother Jessica Sato. What is she?" I could hear a small laugh in his mannered tone. I looked at the knife, tears of pain started flowing down from my eyes and I screamed from hell. My body was aching everywhere. I want to die, please just kill me already. I thought to myself then it felt like a brick just fell out of my head. A sudden thought popped into my head to end this eternal suffering. I'm gonna end it all. I thought to myself and bit my tongue.

Blood started flowing out of my mouth. It covered the torso of my body. When he looked at me I was already covered in blood. He screamed for help, I could tell the way his lips were moving. The Sergeant called for a medic the moment he saw the blood coming out of my mouth since he can't kill me he just wants to torture me until I say something, even though I don't know anything about what was going on. When I saw the medic outside the Sergeant left the room in a sudden panic.

The medic enters the room. She was a tall gorgeous lady. Blonde hair brown eyes, all the things a gentleman could request. She treated my tongue and checked the knife scars on my stomach as well. I kind of felt sorry for the poor lady. I looked outside. There is one guard outdoors so I gotta deal with her quietly. She grabbed a key and undid my chains. As she took them off to treat the rest of my body.

I grasped onto her mouth immediately and with a swing of my hand smashed her throat in, her throat broke inside, her eyes rolled back and I could feel the nurse's soul leaving her body. Her lifeless body almost slipped onto the crystal apparent white floor. Her vital fluids started flowing out of her mouth. In the last split second I to get a hold of her breasts so her lifeless body wouldn't smash to the floor.

I gently positioned her weak fragile body on the floor. I reached for her clothes then I explored her body entirely. I unpacked the pockets of her jacket but they were empty, there were only a couple of bandages there but I can't mind it. I took the bandages. Next, I looked at the pockets of her pants and I found a scalpel.

This will do. This scalpel is sharp enough to cut someone's throat fast enough before they can give a sign. So I remained a bit until the doorkeeper knocked on the gate for the nurse to go out. I reached for the door opened it and with a dash stood behind it. When the warden didn't notice anyone he came inside to take a look but at that moment. I dashed behind him with a sudden movement I caught him by his shoulders and stabbed him in the neck multiple times until he couldn't breathe anymore. Until I saw his soul leave his body. I saw it, he was scared for his life. When he eventually perished I placed his and the nurse's bodies behind the door.

So that even if somebody examines the room they wouldn't notice. I took off the guards' attire and mask, I looked down at my own body for a second and realized how pitiful I must look, my body covered in scratches and scars, I went through multiple torture devices in this couple of months. After a bit of reminding myself, I grabbed his clothes and dressed up in them.

They were a little bit tight I have to admit. Almost like a woman. I reviewed if I had everything and then shifted outside of the chamber. Suddenly I felt someone's gaze on me, one of the guards came by the door and nodded at me. The only thing I could do is nod back. It felt like a brick fell off my heart when he went past me. Suddenly he stopped a couple of steps later. My heart was beating out of my body. I acknowledged that I must have messed up. I reached for my pocket to take the scalpel out but by the time I reached into my pocket I forgot I left it in the room.

The guard took a knife out of his pockets and rushed at me like a wild animal. He swung and managed to cut my chest it was aching but after all those cuts and pain I received from the Sergeant, this much was nothing. He aimed to stab me into my stomach next. I dodged his stab and hit the knife out of his hand. I managed to tackle him and began pounding his head against the tiles of the crystal clear floor.

I could notice it after a bit. A smile formed on my face. His blood was leaking from the back of his head. After a couple more hits. He died. I was only smashing his lifeless body. I noticed he was crying, in his last moments he had fear in his eyes. I took away another guiltless soul. I stood up and examine my clothes. Covered in blood. Not my blood, of course, this is the blood of the innocent people I took the life of. What would father say if he saw me right now? Would he still call me his son, or would he look at me as a nightmare?

I took the knife from the floor. It was shiny. Almost like a brand new hunting knife. I reached down my back arching forwards I grasped it into my hand and looked at it for a second. Did I have to take someone's soul with such a mesmerizing knife? I stood up and made my way to the start of a big staircase. I was probably in the basement of an army establishment so I had to be careful with making my way here. I slowly and quietly started walking up the stairs.

I caught myself drenched in sweat and blood, the gears in my head were going around like a wild tiger inside of my head. With heavy panting, I thought to myself. What could the guide inside of my head be thinking of right now?

Once I reached the top of the staircase I was already out of breath but I had to keep calm. There was a guard was standing there with his back turned towards me. I slowly got closer and tapped him on his shoulders he slowly turned around and questioned "Soldier! Did sir gain any information from the rat?" once he was completely facing me he couldn't do anything. Fear formed in his eyes and I could see them shaking. With a sudden movement, I grabbed my knife and stabbed him in the temple of his head. I covered his mouth with my other before he could scream anything, he must have been in horrible pain since he tried to move a couple more times but I just kept stabbing the shiny hunter knife that was already covered in blood.

I laid his lifeless body on the floor and moved on by myself. It was the moon shining down on my face, it felt as if I was reborn again as a child. I could finally respire this fresh oxygen once again in my life. After having some weighty breathing I reminded myself of what I needed to acquire right now.

I need to find my sister and get out of here. I couldn't be a coward when my poor fragile sister might have been in danger. I sneaked into the bushes and laid down. I peeked around the camp and noticed it. A big building with lights shining around it like the open new sunshine. I crawled towards it. That must be where the Sergeant is. I needed to stay quiet the whole time. I reached my location then I finally saw it. My sister. She was in the Sergeants' office.

I ascended. I climbed to the window the best I could. I had heavy panting again, It's been a while since I pushed myself this much. Drenched in sweat as my joints were aching. But It was only on the first floor so I didn't need to be a professional climber to make at least this much. Once I reached the window I kicked it in. Then I jumped in. I was already fatigued. But the Sergeant said something weird. "I was waiting for you Charles" he chuckled as he turned towards me with a knife in his hand.

"You were waiting for me? What the hell are you talking about? Do you think it was so easy getting here?" I let out the phrases that I had to keep in all this time. My joints popped around from the pain. But we were just circling each other almost like we were dancing. We both held our knifes waiting for one to attack. But of course, no one desired to make the first move. I took a quick peek around, I found my sister was tied up in the corner of the room just laying there just like mom did back then.

Back in the basement where everything started. "It's my turn to ask after all this time. What's going on out there?" I presented the question I finally waited for a long time. But he answered in an instant "The closest thing I can give you is an apocalypse" I couldn't waste any more time. I made the first swing with the blade. But it failed. The reach of my hands was too short and it couldn't reach the Sergeant.

He darted towards my hand and knocked the knife towards the corner of the room. He booted my leg out which forced me to the floor. He moved closer and put the knife to my throat and asked "Any last words?" that's when she appeared behind the sergeant. My sister with the knife that was knocked towards her. She stabbed the sergeant in the back. Then I punched. I just kept punching him until he lost consciousness.

"Thank you, Annie." I said. She nodded as always. I clasped the knife and picked up Annie. We need to get out of here. I held her on my shoulder and declined down the window. She must have hurt herself since the fall because she let out little sounds. Then I spotted it. A truck. We need to sneak onto it and we can get out of here. We slowly and quietly made our way to the truck without anyone noticing us I took around one last peek then jumped onto the back and laid down. Once the driver opened the car door and sat. My breathing was heavy focusing on every small movement of the driver. He started the engine and stepped on the gas. We started going out of the camp, I knew for sure it was finally over for today. I let out a small sigh and hold my sister in my hands tightly. I could feel hear her heart beating slowly a bit faster than normal. We successfully left the camp and were on our way towards a city.
