Homecoming(s)

Faith spent the rest of the year uneventfully in Nonubi. With little to no interpersonal interactions, Faith was sick with boredom…and loneliness. She escaped Cher because being in the country was too hard on her mournful soul but after a while she started to long for Cher. Faith never healed from the deaths she witnessed, but with time she became numb to the pain. She missed Cher and decided to go back in January 1999 even though she had no one and nowhere to return to.

On the day of her arrival in Cher, the city of Coeur de Cher seemed weirdly unfamiliar to 32-year-old Faith. The capital city which was always bright and vibrant seemed gloomy. There were less birds in flight, not many hawkers on the streets and even less traffic which should be a delight but Faith was down spirited by this change. With nowhere to return to, Faith made her way to Huckleberry.

Nothing had changed at Huckleberry except there were a lot of new faces. Faith was in Madam Eunice’s office.
