It was September and Josh was only getting worse. He became an in-patient in a private ward at the hospital. The frequent chemotherapy made him a different man. He had lost his mullet and a lot of weight. This young heart throb was almost unrecognizable.

Josh’s mother was at the hospital so often, she almost lived there. The hardest thing for Josh was to see his mother gradually lose her smile and optimism as she watched her son deteriorate. Her hair hadn’t been brushed for a long time; it was in a messy bun. Her sense of style which had always mattered to her, was the least of her problems and her fatigue was evident in the dark circles under her eyes.

One evening, Josh’s mom had just left and Josh decided to take a nap when he heard a voice from the other side of the room.

“Hey.” The voice said and Josh sat up in a startle. A lanky man about 6 feet tall approached Josh’s bed. He had very pale skin and short multicoloured hair.
