Autumn leaves falling down, like pieces into place

She's closing up at work, searching up the little taco place around the corner to pre-order her dinner. She's heading to go say goodbye to everyone when Karter sneaks up behind her. He wraps his arms around her and pulls her into the freezer before anyone spots the two of them. "What're you doing?" She giggles as she turns around to face him.

"Thought you were going to leave without saying goodbye to me."

She rolls her eyes, "I was just coming to say goodbye to everyone."

He leans down to place a kiss on her lips, "You know what I meant. Thought you'd leave without kissing me."

She kisses him again, "Better?"

"Much."

She wiggles out of his arms, not wanting anyone to walk in on them. "Am I still coming over tonight?"

He shifts on his feet, avoiding her eyes, and her stomach sinks. "I'm not, am I?"

"I'm sorry, El. There's just a lot going on right now."
