A Silent Whisper

The corridor leading to the grand room, was quiet. The walls were old, and hadn’t been polished for a long time. If they were, they could have perfectly reflected the soft, and dim glow of the crystal chandeliers that hanged from the ornate ceiling. An old crimson carpeting ran the length of the corridor, muffling both Kelvin and Nicole’s footsteps.

Looking at the wall, Kelvin saw a couple of old textured wallpapers, adorned with delicate floral patterns, which oddly evoked a sense of refined opulence.

‘This spatial domain is really impressive. The world is so… detailed. It’s almost frightening.’ Kelvin thought.

He then cast a sideway glance at Nicole, and began to wonder.

‘Why does she dislike me? Is it because of my terrible first impression? I’ll admit, it was wrong of me to fall asleep, while the introductions were going on, but that’s all in the past, right? So why?’

Instead of guessing pointlessly, Kelvin decided to ask.

“Hey Nicole. Why do you dislike me?”
