"So, uhm… do you need something?" Liam asked Charlotte whose eyes were wandering around his room as he wanted to fill the silence which was making this whole thing awkward.
"So, I'll consider therapy. And it's not because you suggested it or anything, I just want to. Who's the best therapist in the city?" Charlotte spoke with a tense face expressing shades of vulnerability that made her uncomfortable.
Shouldn't she have a guy for this? I thought all celebrities had guys who linked them with the best stuff and providers in the city?
"Errmm.. I don't know, but we can always get you a good one that's right for you." Liam replied with an uneasy voice.
"Stop right there. I don't want "good". That's for regular people with problems that don't matter. I'm talking about first-class trauma here, so it's either the best or nothing." Charlotte expressed with her default tone of conceit accompanying her insensitivity.
"Okay." Liam replied as he didn't know what to say to her.
The uncomfortable silence flourished again and peaked between them before Charlotte's phone's notification chimed.
Charlotte looked at the notification in a condescending manner before taking to Liam.
"Okay. Not to worry, I've gotten the best therapist already, and we have an appointment in less than an hour."
We? Was she on some form of trauma Molly or what?
"You said 'we'." Liam looked at her with an expression that was desperate for clarity.
"Yeah. You're going with me. It was your idea after all." Charlotte said before leaving the room.
"What the fuck?" Liam thought to himself as he knew the depth of trouble he'd thrown himself into.
"Oh, and one more thing, this stays between us. Therapy isn't good PR for someone like me, so if it gets out, I'll make you cripple to shit until you breathe through your testicles." Charlotte said scarily as she stood by the edge of Liam's door.
********. *******
It had been over 3 months since Charlotte had been in therapy and there wasn't any noticeable changes in who she was towards Liam.
Liam had stopped following her ever since her second week as she found this therapist of hers to be more of her fan than help.
His office was pretty much a selfie spot where he lavished her with tons of compliments on how she was good enough.
"Just glad he's married and pious." Liam said to himself the very first day he walked into Dr. Singh's office.
When has being married ever stopped Charlotte from riding?
But who knows, maybe pious Singh might escape spilling anything besides his words.
"Change really is hard, uhn?" Liam thought to himself before being snapped back to reality by Jerry's beastly roar in the office.
"Did you hear me, Liam? You should be excited, man!" Cillian said to Liam from the door side.
"What's that?" Liam asked as he stayed present in this moment.
"So, our department has been invited to this year's office Spring Retreat. That's so huge. Did you hear those guys last year when they said all about it? God! This is the biggest news yet." Cillian said with a lot of excitement in his voice.
"Whoa! I mean, that's great." Liam said before looking behind his desk towards Ava who flaunted a very exciting smile on her face.
"Uhhmm, so let me get our rooms booked now." Cillian said as he walked towards his desk.
"Wait..like, right now?" Jerry asked with a tone of suspended thrill.
"Yes, boss. Right now." Cillian said as he placed his hands on his laptop to get it done.
"Uhm, Cillian, do you think maybe…?" Ava attempted to speak to Cillian with a tone of skepticism towards her outcome.
It felt more cute in her head and now saying it out loud was a pleasure she wasn't sure she was ready for.
"Yeah..I got you, girl. I'm placing you right next to him." Cillian whispered to Ava who was not seated far from him and they exhanged what felt like a bro-sis code smile that was not noticed by the others in the office.
We all like a guy who catches fast on clues, don't we?
Ava was finding it hard to keep her excitement to herself. She'd done a good job at keeping a lot to herself and away from Liam- her naked body beneath his, her tender lips revolving around his like a luscious meal, and a lot more fantasies she'd rather not think too much about during office hours.
She knew for certain that she was about to have a whole new connection. She was gonna land him in her heart and within the innermost corners of her thighs. Every woman's dream, uhn?
Liam tried his best to stay focused throughout much of the day. He'd been having fantasies too, but a lot less wilder than Ava's.
If only humans could read minds, we just might save our unborn children the stress of a dozen dates and Tinder swipes.
"That's so cool. You'd have loved that for me." Elon said in a sombre voice that the others couldn't hear as he solemnly rubbed the standing portrait of Fiona that sat still on his table.
