Nathaniel x Artist! Reader

Your strokes with the brush were light. The colors blended beautifully. You smiled at your master piece.

Today was the art contest, meaning you were busy. You loved art. Ever since you were little, you've had a passion for colors.

A sigh escaped your lips. Though, you loved this activity, it was veey tiring. At night, you would stay up trying to perfect an art work.

You heard a groan from behind you. Not knowing there was a presence in the room with you, you gasped. You turned to see your red headed friend.

Nathaniel.

"(Y/n)...when are you gonna be done?", his voice was exhausted. You giggled at him, replying, "Oh, I don't know...and hour?"

You smirked, knowing very well he wanted nothing more than to leave. He threw his arms to his neck in frustration, recieving a chuckle from you. "I'm not the one who finished everything a day early."

Just then, he fell out. In exaggeration, Nathaniel flung himself to the floor. "You do that...I'll be taking a nap."

He yawned in between bis words, showing you just how tired he was. You laughed at him, recieving a glare from him. You turned back to your painting, the majestic horses coming to life.

You went back to merging colors. It would take yoh a while to get the eight hue for the sky. You took a step back, both admiring your art and picturing whst colors would look good where.

Pink lemonade.

That was the color you needed for the sky. This was a color classified by you. You were sure it had a name, but you didnt know it, so you called it Pink lemonade.

You called out, "Yes...hmmm..." Your hand spread over the top of the canvas lightly, very little pressure being applied. You shouted with such enthusiasm, "Aha!"

A voice rang out from behind you, Huh?!" You covered your mouth with your hands so suddenly, you bit your tungue. You held a acream back.

You turned to Nathaniel, removing your hands from your face. You sweat dropped. He wasnt there.

In his place, a mam of great height and posture was looking at you. Your eyes met his. You knew he wasn't the one who shouted.

Nathaniel was.

The man looked at you with curious eyes. He opened his mouth to speak, "Miss, is this your painting?" You hesitantly nodded.

A smile crept to his lips, sending a shiver down your spine. His next words shocked you. "I see...My name is Travis van Welkins. I'm a scout for the performing arts, and I must say, you certainly meet the criteria to hold a spot for our group, next year."

You dropped your paintbrush. Was this guy serious? Wow...

Just thsn, Nathaniel hugged you from behind. You jumped in fright, not expexting this. "Nathaniel?!"

He chuckled against your neck, slowly retreating. The man raised an eyebrow, asking, "And who might this young gentleman be?" Your cheeks flushed in embarrassment.

You cleared your throat, only for Nathaniel to cut you off. "I'm Nathaniel. We're both painters her at Collége Fráncious Doupónt. (I'm sorry, I don't know how to really put the name on here.)."

The man made a noise in realization. You were very confused, but went along with it. "If you two are both artists...hmm...I wonder..."

"Would you two like to take part in our partner program?"

Your eyes went side.  Being partners with Nathaniel? Actually...that wasnt bad at all.

A blish seeped its way to your cheeks. Luckilh, you hid it before either of them could see. You turned to Nathaniel with a questioning look.

He nodded his head, aproving of the idea. The guy clapped his hands, shouting, "Oh, that's splendid!" He looked at you two, asking you, "Would you mind painting something right now?"

You were very unsure about this. Though, Nathaniel complied, taking uour hand in his. He bevan sketching something on a canvas.

Oh!

This was the Battle of Velasco! You had learned about this in history class. Now, though, you were going to illustrate it!

You began drawing out the soldies firing at the others, as did Nathaniel. It was a very short battle, only lasting a few days. To think, they wasted all of their amo just because they wouldnt let the other people cross.

Your pencil traced over your sketch, allowing you a perfect picture of where to put everything. Once finished with that, you dropped your pencil into its cup, and picked a paintbrush. You didnt have the necessary colors, so you nudged Nathaniel.

"Hey."

"What?"

"Can we share colors?"

"Sure."

You thanked him, and went right back to your half of the canvas. In no time at all, you were finished. A breathtaking image.

The man awed at it. A stray tear even drew down his cheek. He was amazed.

The man turned to you both, saying, "It's beautiful! I've...I've never seen such beauty. How did you do it?" You were puzzled. You didnt really have an explanation for that.

Nathaniel piped up,"When you have the one you love, you can do anything." You gasped. What did he say?

"Oh, so you are a couple, no?"

"N-"

"Well...not unless she says yes."

Nathaniel turned to you, eyes sparkling. He took your hands in his, making direct eye contact eith you. "(Y/n), will you be my girlfriend?"

It took you a while to answer. You loved Nathaniel without even realizing it. You were a mess.

"(Y/n)?"

You gulped. You didn't want to sutter. You wanted him to hear you loud and clear.

"I will!"
