Scientist! Max x Test Subject! Reader

"Max!", you yelled from across the room. Your boyfriend was currently in the process of making his fifth robot. This irritated you.

All you wanted was for Max to take off from his work. You missed the walks by the Eiffel Tower, where he would confess his love to you time after time. Now, though, all he ever did was work.

"Yes, (Y/n)?", he asked you without direct eye contact. You turned him around, gazing into his golden brown eyes. His eyes narrowed as he said, "(Y/n)! What are you doing?!"

You had to spill it out. You couldn't take it anymore. You cared about him too much to let him go like this. (Lol.)

"Max...please..."

"What?!"

You pressed your lips against his. It took him by surprise, but he melted into the kiss. His eyes closed, but shot open once he felt your lips shift from his.

"Max...you've grown attatched to your work. You never have time for me!"

"(Y/n)...I'm sorry. It's just, that, I'm required to finish something by this Friday. I've made no progress."

You thought. How could you be mad at him? He was too busy to be with you, but here you were...adding another problem to his list.

Then, it hit you.

"What if I helped you, like, a test subject?"

Max's eyes lit up. That was perfect! He grabbed your arm, leading you over to a table.

"(Y/n), I'm creating these headbands for people to see if they can predict the future. You simply type in a question, then put the headband on. If it works, you will see the answer to your question and whether it happens or not. Kinda like a fortune teller, but scientifically engineered."

You nodded your head, and took a headband. Max pulled up a keyboard, ready to type. He typed something in just to test it out.

A screen appeared in front of you. It had a grassy field, flowers and butterflies. you thought.

You gaped at the scenery. It was beautiful. A fit of laughter was heard from a distance.

"Hahaha! You'll never find me!"

Your head turned to see four children running and laughing. One had their eyes closed, his movements slow yet steady. "Marco!"

"Pollo!"

A smile graced your lips. You almost forgot it was surreal, as your vision fogged until it was pure white. You blinked, and felt the headband being lifted from over your eyes.

"What did you see?"

You looked to the side of you, noticing the eager smile on Max's face. You thought back to the vision. "I saw four kids playing Marco Pollo in a grassy field."

Max's smile grew, and he closed his eyes in victory as he punched the air with his arm. "Yes!", he cheered.

You smiled at him. He was happy. That was all you ever wanted, was for Max to be happy.

His next question knocked you off guard.

"Did you, maybe, recognize the kids in the grassy field?"

He sounded impatient. You couldn't think of why he wanted you to know the children. You shook your head from side to side, frowning.

Max's smile dropped to a frown as well. There was a long silence, until he cleared his throat. "Those kids...were us."

"What? But there were four.", you protested. You furrowed your eyebrows in confusion, and tilted your head. "Yes, precisely. That was Marinette and Adrien."

You gasped at the new found knowledge. You felt awful for not remembering that. "So...that was a memory?"

"Yes, I wanted to see if you remembered that. It was our first play date."

You outstretched your arms, enveloping Max in a tight embrace. It took a second before he responded by placing his own arms around your torso. You nuzzle into his neck, saying, "Of course I remeber that. Max, I could never forget something I've done with you."

You stayed in the hug for a minute before pulling back. You smiled weakly at your boyfriend. You leaned in, lightly kissing his lips.

You brought your lips away from his, and reminded him of something. "Max, I was escatic when you asked me to be your girlfriend. It was under the Eifel Tower. At that moment, I forgot everything, and focused on you...and I."

You were about to speak once more, if it weren't for a pair of lips smashing against yours. You closed your eyes, and held onto Max's neck. The kiss lasted for what should have been eternity, but you longed for more.

Max smiled at you, saying, "I felt the same way, (Y/n). I've loved you for the longest time..." You looked him in the eyes, tears steadily building up in your eyes. You didn't even take notice of them.

"I love you, Max. You're my scientist...forever."

"And you're my love, (Y/n)."
