"I-I like you, Nathaniel!"

"..."

Marc walked up the steps of the school, anticipating his first day. He had just moved to Paris and was now going to Francious Dupont. He spotted his childhood friend, Marinette, up ahead.

"Hey, Mari!" He ran over to her, seeing as she was alone. She looked to be spying on something. When he came closer, he realized what she was spying on was a boy.

"Oh, sorry. I'll leave you to your...uh, daydreaming." Marc waved at her and quickly sped off, wanting no part in that. Though he wrote romantic fanfiction, he had never been in one himself.

Therefor, he refused to get invloved in it. Marc sat by a tree snd pulled out his journal, filled to the brim with fanfictions of Ladybug and Illustrator.

He sighed and tried to find an empty page. "Something wrong?" Marc glanced up slightly, shaking hid head.

"No, th- Wait. Aren't you that model guy?"

Adrien smiled and gave a light chuckle. "Yeah, I guess so. What about you?" Marc stood up and held his hand out.

"Marc." Adrien nodded his head whislt shaking his hand. "What brings you to Francious Dupont?"

"I-um...it's kind of a secret."

Adrien apologized for any intrusion of privacy. "No, it's ok. I just want to keep it a secret, until the future.", he mumbled the last part. Adrien shrugged his shoulders after thinking about his words.

"We should head to class." Marc gathered his things while Adrien waited for him. "What class do you have?"

"Ms. Mandelieve. I hear she's the worst." Adrien laughed as they walked. "She can get a little...upset, at times."

When their classes came up they bid each other goodbye and walked inside their cladsrooms. Then a mop of red hair came from the shadows. "A secret, huh?"

Nathaniel was determined to figure Marc's secret out. He hadn't the slightest clue as to why he was interested in the kid. But one thing's certain: Nathaniel already liked him.

Nathaniel walked to class and took his seat. "Could it be his parents?" Nathaniel shook his head.

"Alright, students. I trust all of y'all did the assignment?" Nathaniel mentally facepalmed. He had forgotten about that.

At lunch Nathaniel sat at his tree, doodling. Homework had long passed his mind. Then he heard footsteps coming towards him.

"Um, hi."

Nathaniel looked up and saw Marc. "Hey..." Marc sat down next to him.

"I've seen you around but never knew who you were. Hi, I'm Marc. He stretched an arm out and shook his hand. "Nathaniel."

"So tell me: What are you doing sitting here alone?" Nathaniel pulled his journal a bit closer to himself. "Oh."

"I-I was supposed to be doing my Language Arts homework, but found it too dificult." Marc's eyes lit up. "I can help you."

"And why would you do that?"

"Because I want to be your friend."

It's been a few months since then. Nathaniel and Marc have grown to be best friends. Though they both wanted to be more.

Nathaniel had gotten a letter from someone telling him to meet them at the fountain. He, being the nice person he is, went there and waited. Finally he heard footsteps from behind him.

He turned around to see Marinette, a blushing mess and eyes darting everywhere. "H-hi, Na-Nathaniel!" She walks closer and sits next to him.

"Hey, Mari. What did you want to tell me?" Marinette cleared her throat, determined to get it right this time. She drew a deep breath and looked him straight in the eyes.

"I-I like you, Nathaniel!"

"..."

Nathaniel looked down, wishing he had better news. "I-I'm sorry, Marinette-" "I-It's ok! Don't worry about it! I just remembered I have to help my parents at the b-bakery. Bye!"

She ran off with hot, steamy tears in her eyes. Nathaniel just kept his head down in disappointment. He sighed and got up.

"If only Marc liked me..."

And that was how Nathaniel was captured by Lady Luck. He had broken Marinette's heart and now was paying the price. "You love me, Nathaniel!"

Lady Luck had him at the park where everyone watched the scene. Marc was there. He was infuriated that someone could capture an innocent person like that.

"Let him go!"

There was no sign of Cat Noir anywhere. "Adrien, help me get her away from Nathaniel." Marc was talking to Adrien about a plan.

They settled for a diversion and gor ready to be chased. Marc woulf go back for Nathaniel and hide somewhere. As for Adrien, he had his own plan that involved a little hiding too.

They started throwing words at Lady Luck until she was mad enough to go aftet them. She chased them as fast as she could. Marc quickly turned arounf and went after Nathaniel.

He began untying the ropes around him and then grabbed his hand. "Come on. We can hide out at my place." He nudged Nathaniel to come with him but then looked at him as he wasn't moving.

Nathaniel was blsuhing furiously, looking down slightly. Marc followed his gaze and saw their hands intertwined. He blushed too,but cleared his throat.

"Let's go."

They made their wsy to Marc's house and locked the door behind them. "Why-why did you save me?", Nathaniel asked quietly. Marc met Nathaniel's gaze, blushing slightly.

"I love you. I-I mean I love your art! I love your hair! I mean-" He was cur off by Nathaniel's laughter. He looked at him, a flustered mess.

"What's so funny?" Nathaniel sighed and smiled. "I love you too, and everything about you."

Marc blushed a shade of red that put Nathaniel's hair to shame. He contemplated his next action. He wrspped his arms around him tightly.

"Thank you."

Marc pulled away from the hug and gave Nathaniel and big smile. "I love you, Nathaniel. And we'll stop this akuma from laying another hand on you." Nathaniel looked down in self pity.

"How?"

"I have...a little friend."
