"Oh, I can't wait!" Marinette chirped. She jumped around as she looked at her friends. "It's going to be so much fun!"

She clung onto Alya who was on her phone. Alya looked up and raised an eyebrow. Marinette had a wide grin on her face.

"No." Alya said bluntly. Marinette shrunk down as everyone laughed. Alya pushed her glasses up and smirked. "You need to start talking to him yourself. I'm not always gonna be there for you, girl."

Marinette pouted and retreated to her spot in the circle. Alya was about to speak when someone cut her off. "Hey, girls. What's up?"

Everyone looked to see Luka smiling at them. Marinette tensed up a bit and managed to stutter out a, "Hello." Alya glanced in her direction before smiling warmly at Luka.

"Hey, Luka. We were just discussing the dance. Are you going?" She asked while nudging Marinette slightly. Luka gave a thumbs up and a hum in response. "Yeah, Juleka's making me go. It wouldn't be so awkward if I had someone to go with. But I don't see that happening any time soon."

Alya nudged Marinette and gave her a wink. Marinette blushed. "A-Alya! No!"

Luka quirked an eyebrow. "What's that?" Marinette tensed.

"Oh, n-nothing!" Marinette pushed Alya away and walked away from the group. Now it was just Luka, Adrien, Nino, and you.

You stood there silently, going unnoticed by the Caribbean Blue. You sighed. You wished you had the confidence to ask him to the dance, but that voice in your head kept saying he'd reject you.

And to add to the mix, Mari liked him. She was a much better match for Luka than you ever could be. She was nice, caring, outgoing, beautiful, smart, brave, the whole package!

"Marinette's just shy. She was like that around me last year," Adrien explained. Luka nodded his head in understanding. Then his eyes trailed over to you.

"Oh, hey, (Y/n)!"

You flinched from his tone. You plastered on a (fake) smile. "Hey," you said with a small wave.

"Are you going to the dance?"

Your heart skipped a beat. Did he just...? No!

He was only asking if you were going. Nothing more. "U-um, maybe. I don't have anyone to go with."

Luka chuckled. "Well, it looks like we're in the same boat." You blushed and mumbled a "yeah" in response.

You sat at lunch with the others, listening to them rant about their day. Marinette got assigned with Chloe for a project, and Alya was stuck with some random kid. Luka was telling his story currently.

"It's so boring without you guys in there. I don't know anyone in there and all they want are autographs!" He sighed to show his frustration. "And I still don't have anyone to go to the dance sith. I was thinking about just going with Juleka since she's my sister, but I think she's taking Rose."

"I think I know someone who doesn't have a date yet~" Alya smirked. Marinette shrunk in her seat. You looked down.

"Marinette? You don't have a date?"

You stood from your seat. You couldn't take this. You didn't want to witness his rejection before you even got to confess.

"I-I'll be at the library." And with that you grabbed your things and scuttled out of the cafeteria. Tears welled in your eyes.

And then it went black.

"See ya!" Luka waved to his friends. He made his way back to class, worried about you. You never did return to the table, or give an explanation for your sudden departure.

Luka frowned. He had been wanting to ask you out for quite some time. But it seemed that every time he got one step closer, you were two steps farther.

Then he thought about Marinette. She was nice, and he hated having to reject her at lunch, but he couldn't stand to lie to her. He didn't have feelings for her.

And besides, she was head over heels in love with Adrien. He knew he wasn't the right one for her. He couldn't do that to her.

Luka sighed. He was about to walk I to the room when a force pulled him back. He hit the ground with a thud.

"You like her, don't you?"

Luka looked up to see a girl- wait, you! You were welding a staff and were hovering atop a disk. "You never looked at me, never noticed me. Well, you'll see me now!"

You threw your staff at the male when another blocked the attack. "Sorry to intrude, but I believe you are late for class~" He knocked the staff out of your hands.

"Stupid cat!" You charged at him, him dodging you successfully. You smirked. You weren't a one trick pony.

"Here, kitty, kitty, kitty~"

You threw a piece of catnip down the hall. Cat paused. He sped down the hall chasing the catnip.

You turned to Luka. "(Y/n), what happened?" He had tears trailing down his eyes.

"is what happened. You broke me, but I came back stronger! I won't be rejected anymore!" Luka couldn't believe what he was seeing or hearing. What had he done?

Wait, rejected? Luka racked his mind for answers. Why would you think he rejected you?

Then it hit him. He had been spending a lot of time with Marinette. You probably thought he liked her.

"(Y/n), I like you!"

You paused. What did he just say? No, he's lying!

"I've just been too nervous to approach you. You were always so distant, so far. I didn't know how to say it. But it's you, (Y/n). I love you." Luka was standing before you. You took your hands in his.

"I love you, (Y/n)."

The tear stains along your face were lined with fresh droplets. "Y-you're lying..." There's no way he could love you back.

Luka cupped your face. "But I'm not. And I'll prove it to you." He looked you in the eyes, and pressed his lips against yours.

You were surprised. But you melted into the kiss and closed your eyes. Luka pulled away.

You stared into his eyes, a blush creeping up to your cheeks. Luka smiled at you. Your heart pounded against your chest.

"I-I love you too, Luka."

Ladybug and Cat sniffed at the scene. "I shipped it from the start," Ladybug said. Cat was crying tears of joy.

"Me too- wait."

"You shipped it?!" Cat jolted up. "I know my lady in my civilian life?!" Ladybug darted her eyes.

"Uh, hey! The akuma!"
