Chapter 18: Cold Water Mixed with a Warm Feeling

I felt stunned, but I was brought back to reality when I heard the default sound for when someone hangs up. My head was spinning.

My heart had literally ran across the entire world.

I frantically push down my blanket due to how hot it was, yet I still felt like a boiled egg. I tied my hair up in a bun, I did everything to cool me down. My heart beat finally slowed down, it was then where the sun began to rise.

Slowly, I tip toe towards the door, peaking out of it to look out of the windows. The sky was still midnight blue but with little rays of orange and yellow raced across the sky.

My legs started moving by themselves, walking out of the door and onto the cold pathway. My footsteps were so faint, the bun I had in my hair bounced up and down, eventually loosening, letting my hair and the hair tie fall.

I could've picked up my hair tie but I felt so glued to my spot, the sun rise gave me another warm feeling. I wasn't love, but it was just pure happiness.

Leaves began to float up and be swept away from the wind. In my peripheral vision, I could see birds enter the little scenery, making a smile on my face show.

As cliché as this sounds I wanted Adrien to just show up and hold my hand and then giving me a kiss. I slapped my self quietly as I remembered something.

The smile washed off my face as I pull myself away from the window before entering Alya's dorm. She had switched places from before and was now on the floor, a blanket barely covering her Star fish pose.

I chuckle quietly before getting my sheets and pulling them over me.

The scene that had only played out barely an hour ago replayed in my head, hoping it wasn't some prank, then letting the darkness take me into something better than reality._____________________________

I felt a sudden rush of cold ice hit my face letting a blood curdling scream out of my mouth.

"HOLY SHI-"

"NO SWEARING, YOU'VE BEEN OUT LIKE A LIGHT BULB FOR 5 HOURS AND SLEPT THROUGH THE ENTIRE DAY!" She yelled in my ear, making me deaf for a short period of time. Alya began giving me some random lecture about how I wasn't there and how much she needed me and my sassy comebacks to give to Chloe.

I roll my eyes "Okay okay, I'm sorry." I reply sincerely, before getting up and heading towards the door, "Not" were my last words before darting down the hallway and to the front of the school. Soon hiding behind one of the nearby trees.

Alya's screeching yell came into my ears, even if meters away from her, you can always hear her loud yell. She only uses this yell when she's extremely mad, while to me, I find it quiet amusing.

Faint voices were heard and I remained quiet, but it was hard not to,

"Where is she?! I'm going to take her macaroons!"

"Alya chill, I'm sure Adrien can go find her, you've been screaming so much I can't believe your voice isn't gone yet"

"But-"

"No buts, the only but here is yours walking back to the dorm, while I admire it from behind"

Muffled laughs came out of my mouth as I heard a loud Clap, assuming Alya's hand came in contact with Ninos cheek, wouldn't blame her though.

The sounds of their footsteps and continuous bickering faded away, the sun started setting, leaving trails of familiar rays of Orange and yellow, and hues of different pinks and purples.

I sat down against the tree until I heard footsteps coming my way, I took a 50 50 chance.

It was either Adrien Or It was a randomly creep tryna kidnap me.

Thankfully it was the first option, I turn around to greet his green forest eyes and his playful smirk

"Awh, bugaboo I felt lonely without you"

"Awh, I don't care" I reply, he gasped and put a hand on his chest faking if he was hurt or offended. Casually he just sat next to me, and silence rolled in, it wasn't awkward it was just comforting, and with the breeze slowly blowing little leaves away.

"Did you mean it?" I ask absentmindedly,

He looked my way, and he found my blue bell eyes looking somewhere else, he paused a little before replying,"Mean what?"

I roll my eyes playfully, "What you told me before you rudely hanged up" "you didn't even say bye" I added. His face was calm and collected, but then flustered and all red and pink. A smile formed on my lips in victory.

He relaxed a little, running a hand down his hair he then faced me,

"Of course I do.." he paused and looked away from me, I knew what was coming after that and I mentally prepared myself. But it was still a jab to the heart. "but I'm getting engaged to Chloe the second I leave school"

I gave him a sad smile, I knew one day they will get engaged and all,and eventually he will learn to love her, "We can always keep it a secret?" I ask.

"Keep what a secret? Our feelings? Of course I'm not just going to yell it out to the world, jeez Mari"

A light chuckle escaped my mouth, and just like that unconsciously I lay my head down onto his shoulder. His body tensed at the contact but I didn't mind or care.

"I mean, if we had a relationship, we could always just keep it a secret, that's if you want to." I whisper gently, the cold breeze started picking up again.

Little strands of my knotty raven hair began to float up and wave around, I close my eyes to hear only Adrien and I's breathing, along with distance sounds of trees rustling and birds chirping.

"I'd like that, just you and me. Together" his voice was soft, it made my heart do flips and flops inside my chest, so gentle and caring. It could put me to sleep just like that, but thankfully it didn't.

"Would you?" Was his second question, his head rotated a little and faced me, I looked up at him, as cheesey as it sounds, our eyes were like two puzzle pieces that always fit together, a spark ignited in me, making me smile and little and letting a few words escape my mouth.

"Yeah..I'd like that too."
