The Dragon Nut Coffee

After calming Daerys down and going out with the boys for dinner, they finally studied the theoretical portion. The other three just simply started to go through the books while Daemon, on the other hand skimmed every book quickly. This made them confused but to not arouse anymore confusion he just said;

"I haven't read these materials since I was a kid and some of the books are new to me. So just making sure everything is there."

They believed his words with a pinch of salt. Afterall it's Daemon they are talking about. whatever he does are something suspicious worthy.

After skimming through the books, he simply started to read the first book and explained a bit by bit to them, not to arouse more suspicion and for them to absorb the content.

The next day went by the same routine nothing noteworthy happened. The curious looks are persistent. Not to mention whenever their eyes meet the princess actually smile at him causing another wave of rumours but he simply just looks away when she smiles. Marielle was also occasionally glancing at him and the princess.

It seems like to Daemon that the elite group actually haven't talked to the princess about the matter and it's not like she is also humouring everything they are saying.

The weekend arrived and as promised Daemon took his younger sister for a shopping. Or it was supposed to be that way but since Daemon doesn't know about the new buildings that was constructed after he dropped out of the academy he got confused on the way to the shop, so Daerys took the lead and showed him around.

"Laeden super mall', wow what a boring name. Can't they actually name something good." He mused himself.

They were in front of a large mall named...'Laeden super mall.'

"The products here are good. They range from all prices for every student to afford them." Daerys happily chatted.

"Is that so. I see, I see."

"Come on, let's go inside." She dragged him inside the mall.

"Wow," He was really amused. Despite the bland name of the mall the interior looked nothing like the exterior. The buildings were many levels high and very vast. It was swarming by students. Some of them were purchasing while some of them were eating in a cafe. There were some professors who was casually strolling and shopping through the mall.

"Last time when I was here this was just on the construction phase but look at it now, fully constructed and functional. Tu tu tu... Time sure flies."

Daerys crooked her head towards him.

"You sound like an old man, brother."

"Well, I'm getting old, no denying in that."

"Bro, are you okay?"

"Um... yeah, let's visit some coffee shop. I can already smell the fresh aroma in the air." He dragged her to where the smell was permeating from.

It was a fancy coffee shop in the corner. Though the shop had people it didn't had that many people compared to the other shops.

"Well, I guess I can drink in peace." He said it to himself and entered the coffee shop.

Daerys also reluctantly entered the coffee shop. She particularly doesn't drink coffee but since her brother was addicted to it, she occasionally drank with him.

"What would you like, good sir and madam." A waitress suddenly appeared as soon as they both seated on their chairs.

"Can I see the menu?" Daemon asked with low smile.

"Of course…, Here you go, sir." The waitress presented him a small card.

"Uh… what am--" Daerys suddenly grabbed the card and placed it on the table. She touched the card on it centre- which activated a hologram which can be viewed from both the sides.

"Oh…, technology sure have progressed while I was sleeping."

"Most of the restaurant and cafes have opted for this menu card, the café we visited last day was one of the few remaining shops which use the traditional menu cards." Daerys calmly explained the situation. It was understandable as the technology was rapidly evolving with the help of magic and the changes happened in the recent times shows that and her brother being locked himself in the room for six years only held him back from the technological advances he missed from that time. But she wasn't repulsed to explain the situation, especially for him, she enjoyed their little talk. She was getting all of the missing days of the past six years from him. After all he literally raised her when she was just a babe and he abandoned her just like that. Though she wanted to avoid him and inflict him with the same pain he inflicted on her by abandoning her, she couldn't just do it. So, she put all of her revenge mind behind and started to enjoy his company.

"The hell is Dragon nut." He wore an ugly and confused expression.

"Its just like you read, sir." The waitress replied smilingly.

"What! Literal nut from the…" he whispered the next part "Dragons."

"Oh NO! NO... No! It's a new type of tree that grows in the elven kingdom. The dragon tree bore fruits named dragon fruits and the dragon nut is extracted from the fruits. Its really tasty, brother." Daerys corrected her brother before he was able to spew another vulgar nonsense.

"I see, then I would've this…Dragon nut coffee." He gave his order to the waitress.

"Good choice sir, and for the madam?" She turned towards Daerys.

"I would've the same too."

"Very well, it would be ready in a couple of seconds." The waitress turned on her heels and sped up to the kitchen.

"What the heck is with peoples naming sense. First was that sword then the mall now a tree. I mean who would literally call a nut- 'Dragon's nut."

"Well, I don't see any problem with that name. in fact, you would actually name the tree as 'Dragon Tree,' if you were to see it too."

"Oh… is that like a Dragon?"

"Yes."

"Have you seen one?"

"Uh… no. But they say it looks like a dragon. Since the tree is precious the elves protect it like their 'World Tree."

"The World Tree, I've to visit it if fate lets me meet it."

Daerys just looked at her brother for his remarks. For the elves, their world tree is their life and they wouldn't allow anything to go near it and to think her brother wants to meet it.

'Must be because he just woke from his slumps.' She decided to change the subject;

"Have you prepared for the test?"

"Yep, I'm pretty sure I'll get a perfect score for the theory and for physical test I'm above average only below some of the elites that is of course with the use of magic."

"I see."

At the same time the old waitress came with two cups of Dragon nut coffee.

"Here you go sir and one for the madam too." She served both of them and waited there.

Seeing her standing there, Daemon took a sip from the coffee.

"HOLY SHIT! This is nuts!" He literally elevated from the seat as he said that. The coffee was superb.

"Yes, you're quite right, good sir, it is indeed from a nut… The Dragon Nut." The waitress happily spoke.

"Ah… no that is not what he meant Ms. Waitress. He said this coffee is 'fine."

"Excellent, you're also quite right, good madam…"

"Wha-what?"

"The coffee nut is 'finely' grated into powder form before brewing this splendid coffee." The waitresses voice once again passed among the table.

"The fuck are you even talking about?" Daerys was visibly confused and stupefied.

'Was this waitress an idiot or is she really acting.'

Daemon was laughing clutching his stomach. Like a viper attacking its unsuspecting prey she kicked him under the table.

"Ouch! What!" She gestured her eyes at the waitress who was still standing at the table.

"Ms. Waitress can I take out ten more cups of this coffee."

"Sure thing, good sir. Would that be all."

"Yes, and thank you."

"Alright, ten cups of Dragon nut coffee packed will be arrive soon." With that she once again ran towards the back of the coffee shop.

"Ten cups! Seriously just how much of an addict are you?" Daerys was stunned but considering her brother's coffee addiction this was nothing.

"What's the harm, Dany?"

"The price! That's the harm."

"Oh… When did my lavish sister talk about saving money?" He chuckled.

"You'll also save money once you learn about the price."

Soon enough she was proven right. "Holy shit! 50,000 Laenos for a single cup of coffee! What the fuck is this made of, Dragon's heart or something." He was bewildered while looking at the bill.

"That is wrong, good sir. The coffee is made up of Dragon nut and not Dragon heart. And that'll be 600,000 in total."

Daerys was the one laughing right now seeing her brother's predicament.

"My sword isn't even worth one of these coffees," Turning to his sister "Dany, help your dear brother will you." He smiled a brotherly smiled at Dany. But it was of no vail.

"Uh… No."

"Come on, I'll take you out next week also. Please, aren't you a good sister."

Seeing his cute face Dany no longer was able to refuse him. "Fine, only this time."

"Yeah, my Dany is the best." Daemon celebrated.

"Thank you, good sir. Thank you, good madam. Please visit us anytime." The waitress bowed to them.

The outing would've been a happy one for Daemon if only he hadn't met them here.
