"What is this?" I asked in confusion.

The object she showed me was a necklace with a crescent moon shape and a light blue center. With a silver neck chain.

"This is the jewelry that Miss Laura has chosen for you."

"It's beautiful! It sparkles beautifully."

"Miss Laura has chosen the best for you."

"Then, please thank Miss Laura and Mr. Roman for giving me this gift."

Wilfrod nodded his head.

"Excuse me, Mr. Wilfrod!!! We have arrived with the items you requested."

Two men approached Wilfrod wearing servants' clothes and carrying goods.

"Who are these two?" I asked.

"They are my people. They both brought the gifts I mentioned earlier," Wilfrod explained.

"You two can put them here!"

They both nodded and did as Wilfrod said.

"Since our work has been completed. We would like to take our leave."

After saying that they left.

"You can check and make sure the gift is appropriate or not."

"I don't think that's necessary."

"And here is your adventurer card. We have adjusted its color and rank, you just need to drip blood onto this card."

"I see."

Wilford lent me a small needle. I pricked my thumb with the needle. Blood came out and I dripped it onto the card. Instantly the card turned red.

"Now it's your card. You only need to show that card to the guards if you want to enter or to the adventurer's guild. Each card has the owner's fingerprint and can be matched. If the card is fingerprinted and the owner's finger does not match, then you will be imprisoned and tortured to reveal who you are."

"Wow!! That's terrible. Thank you for telling me that warning," I put the card into my pocket.

After a few minutes I finally put on the adventurer's gear. A pair of black gloves and shoes. Black monster leather pants with white stripes. And a long-sleeved jacket with a black fur collar and a red pattern. At the waist was a long sword. I also wore the crescent moon necklace that I was given earlier.

I looked at myself in the mirror.

"Damn!!! My handsome face seems to match everything I wear."

I pulled the sword from the scabbard at my waist and raised it with both hands.

"This sword is a little heavy. How about I swing a few strokes?"

I swung a few moves smoothly and easily.

"It doesn't seem to be a problem because of the skill of mastering all the various weapons."

I sheathed my sword again.

"How about I try out this equipment in the forest. It's better that I get used to using it than when doing guild duties I'll run into mistakes due to my stupidity of not knowing the function of this equipment. That's embarrassing."

On the way to the river I heard birds chirping and met some animals.

"Hey! Isn't that a squirrel?" I saw a squirrel chasing another squirrel.

"Is it mating season? Ouch!"

Something hit the back of my head. When I looked back there was a group of monkeys holding fruits.

"Wait a minute!!! It looked like a familiar face. Ah! That's right it looks like my friend. Ouch!"

One of the monkeys threw the fruit he was holding at me. They seemed to be mocking me.

"Heh!!! Heh!!! Heh!!!"

As if laughing they then left me.

"This is an insult!" I said.

A few minutes later I finally reached the river.

"The atmosphere here is very cozy. The calm flow of the river. The gentle breeze. It's really soothing. Also the water here is very cool."

I stood in the middle of the river soaking my feet.

"Crackle! Crackle!"

"What is it?"

There was a strange sound around. I looked around but there was nothing.

"Hm, it's just my feeling."

I went back to enjoying the cool river water. However, the sound suddenly returned.

"Crackle!!! Crackle!!! Crackle!"

"What was that sound exactly?"

I looked around, but there was nothing around. I scratched my head.

"Looks like I was too tired to think of anything."

As I turned back, there was a hideous creature standing by the trees watching me.

It was 23 meters away from me. Seeing it made me startle and my heartbeat seemed to stop.

"What is that? What is that thing? Big foot? A monster? But what kind of monster is that big and tall, plus its face is so hideous. I also left my weapon behind me, near the tree across the river."

Slowly the monster walked over.

"Bastard! I still want to live."
