Chapter 74 Shadowuser's last commissioned chapter

"This is a whole damned orphanage..." I cursed seeing the large chapel-shaped structure that probably was a joke to Ra's al Ghul due to the clergy's past predilection for grooming their orphans. But for Ra's al Ghul, this was a chapel to the art of murder and sabotage rather than some distant god.

I could feel dozens of souls within the chapel all at a younger age and although I wasn't that great at sensing such things, I could tell it was a pretty even split between boys and girls.

"There goes my plan for just dropping off Cassandra Cain," I muttered weakly as I looked to the orphanage before sighing as I considered my options.

No single League member could deal with this number of kids without prep time honestly. Whether it be deprogramming them as well as putting their training to decent use in life. I mean sure Martian Manhunter could mind wipe them of their time in the League of Assassins but the physical and mental training and more importantly the willingness to kill they will have gotten beaten into their psyche. Won't be so easily washed away.

"Well looks like I am faced with the hard times of being a hero." I sighed as I stretched my power to the limits as a massive gaping maw of pure swirling darkness opened up above the orphanage and then the gaping maw fell to the ground swallowing the orphanage with all the resting children and transporting the whole structure into my realm.

Sure, I could literally just ignore the building filled with little killers in the making, but in the end, if I let them fall into the adoption system of America... Well, there won't be an adoption system in America as they will likely kill anyone and every single pervert in the system so it would run out of workers and adopters.

After taking the building into my realm I just blew out a breath as in reality only Luthor remained of the Light and honestly... He was nothing to me. Just another jumped-up little human that had too much cunning, ambition, and wanted to shape the world into his deluded vision. Not a threat to me nor to the greater humanity like the Light was.

As I crossed Luthor's name in my mental list I wondered if he would feel relieved or insulted I wasn't going to kill him but either way, with several Sonido's I flew away from Infinity Island after killing Ra's al Ghul and stealing an orphanage.

Then once I got out of the magical protections around the island, I reached into my side pocket and took out the golden little disk emblem that could connect even to my realm and allow me to call Batman or whoever had the other emblem.

I stared at the emblem silently as, to say the least, me and the League hadn't exactly parted on the best of terms but either way, I wanted to clear the air as it were. I wasn't seeking forgiveness or anything so weak. I was just telling them what had happened and that my quest was over...

I pushed my intent into the emblem, and it glowed with golden Order magic, and I could feel it reaching through space and time to connect with the other emblem.

But rather than Batman answering the emblem I was welcomed to the sight of Wonder Woman in her costume sitting in her office chair of her embassy.

"Wond-... Diana, it's been a while." I spoke as I tripped at calling her Wonder Woman.

Wonder Woman's face was stern as she faced me and then she sighed as she dropped the forced stern look as she all but collapsed leaning against the back of her chair. "Do you know why I am here in my embassy and not on patrol or doing other League activities?" She asked.

I bit my lip before shaking my head replying softly. "I hope my activities haven't brought trouble upon you as my mentor. But no, I am not sure."

Diana Troy eyed me softly while she tapped the expensive wood of her desk before she finally spoke. "Hephaestus was able to feel the temporary contract Slade Wilson had with the God Killer sword be shattered and his own connection was broken when you took true ownership of the sword. Now Lord Zeus is panicking at the thought that you with a divine killer weapon is going to come after Olympus due to them accepting the contracts put on your life and supplying the God Killer sword."

I rolled my eyes as I shook my head. "I know even with the God Killer sword that wiping out the Olympians is a fool's errand, and I will likely get little but trinkets for the attempt... Though killing the arrogant gods who torment humanity could in the end be a worthy new quest..." I drew off as my hollow instincts all but salivated at the thought of devouring a god before I shook the thought as Diana went to say something.

"Regardless Diana," I said cutting her off. "I have dealt with the Light from top to bottom with only Luthor remaining. He is the least of my worries and least likely to attempt to do something to destroy humanity. He is the League's responsibility." I ended with her face twitching at my... Very unheroic deeds to say the least at least to these modern heroes.

"I see... So why have you called? Just to brag about your deeds?" She spoke dryly with an eyebrow rising as I sighed.

"Ok look... I did a good thing you know. I killed the baddie as in I killed Ra's al Ghul and even destroyed his very soul so the bastard probably can't come back." I began speaking but Wonder Woman cut me off.

"And why have you called Jake Bariss? Get to the point this emblem's calls don't have long remember."

"Alright fine... I stole Ra's al Ghul's orphanage of the mostly untrained future killers and although one of them will be going to Batman due to a karmic connection they share but the rest I don't know what to do with. Do I just make them my personal realm soldiers? Or do I allow them to break the adoption system in half as even mind wiping them won't wipe out their mental and physical training?" I explained and Wonder Woman closed her eyes as she took a deep breath.

"As the god-king of your own realm, I being the princess of Themyscira, would have to advise you to have standing troops in your land, even just as a status symbol even if you can just as easily slaughter any mortal army that dares to invade... But as Wonder Woman and a hero, I ask that you give the system a chance." She spoke as she opened her eyes and met my own.

I sighed feeling utterly tired of these mortal affairs. I loved the Fae realm where if someone vexed me and actually insulted me, I was well and truly in the right to slap their heads off their shoulders.

"Alright I wish you all the best, I don't know when I will see you all again. So, give my old team my well wishes, I have to take care of my new army of little assassins I guess." I muttered at the end as I crushed the emblem in my hands to sever my karma with the Justice League.
