Chapter 82 Good honest fundraising efforts.

Unfortunately, as a new player within the fields of the lands of Fairy, I didn't receive an invitation. Not because the nobility of Fairy dismissed me, no with me killing a Chaos Lord they knew I was a factor they had to account for and was the reason none had dared to even my land or even attempt to sabotage it to test how I would react with disposable pawns.

But I was just an unknown and likely they doubted I even knew how to act within the noble circles which was also true. I had little interest in pandering to the Fae rules that held the realm together, and I always took a blunt and honest approach to any inhabitants that approached me.

So, with me being Titania's plus one I couldn't exactly bring Galatea, Raven, or anyone else with me.

"Now what should I do for money to bid within the auction... I won't be offering favors as that will just screw me over even if I could break the Fae promise." I mused as I pondered over what in the hell I could use to bid in this supernatural auction.

Then it struck me. I could just loot all the gold and silver from a monster or something that I killed. My Skyrim instincts never steered me wrong but who or what would be worth me going after to loot?

"Astrid," I called out, and from my shadow came my bound fairy.

"Yes, Jake how may I help?" She asked tiredly as I had awoken her from her slumber within my shadow.

"Tell me which do you think is typically the richer of the two I bring up. vampire clans on Earth or an enclave of giants that sell enchanted weapons and such to the supernatural community." I asked with Astrid blinking in thought at the question.

Astrid hummed and brought a delicate finger to her chin as she hovered in the air as she pondered my question before she began speaking. "Well Jake, the Vampires will likely have more established assets like property and not huge stores of gold, silver, and such but they will likely have treasures like enchanted weapons or cursed items. That and they will likely have just a lot of high-quality furnishings for wherever they live as vampires are notorious for splurging on where they live." Astrid explained the vampire side while I was thinking of what actual value, I could get out of it.

"But the Giants who forge treasures will certainly have stores of ingots and such to make all their treasures," Astrid said succinctly before she smiled wryly. "Though if you think to raid the giants for their wealth, I suggest you change your mind as they are heavily favored through the lands of Fairy and have friends everywhere with their weapons that owe them Fae-bound favors to be called in at will... That and the Giants are no slouch themselves and trying to rob them can lead to even gods to their demise as they have spent millennia making their holdings as defensible as possible." Astrid warned me.

I couldn't help but pout as she was right about the Giants. "Dammit, how can I get a massive amount of valuable stuff to buy shit at an auction." I cursed cupping my face as I dryly thought about how this was such a damned mortal problem... Here I was a god in the flesh basically with my own world and I couldn't buy a damn thing I wanted at an auction.

"Uh, Jake... Why don't you just slay an evil dragon and take its horde?" Astrid asked me in honest confusion as I stared at her silence. "What why are you looking at me? I mean Azhi Dahaki and Drakul Karfang both reincarnated a couple of years ago and I am surprised you didn't think about Drakul Karfang at least. As your master Wonder Woman was the one who killed it last... Not to mention how the dragon is renowned for its exceedingly large material hordes of wealth as it grows in power due to the wealth it accumulated and the envy people feel because of it?"

I smiled giving Astrid a gentle pat on the head while internally I was beating that so-called Skyrim Instincts at not reminding me of the damned dragons that plagued the lands of Fairy.

"Yes, you are right. I should have thought of Drakul Karfang but what of Azhi Dahaki? Does he have a horde or something?" I asked and Astrid's face twitched as she shivered shaking her head.

"Jake... Azhi Dahaki is called the Armageddon Dragon for a reason. He himself holds no holdings as he literally prowls the Lands Between devouring whole worlds and poisoning powerful lands with its evil miasma before coming back to devour the dying realm later on if it's too strong for him to directly devour. He has the largest bounty in all of Fairy with several gods and Fairy Lords making soul-binding agreements to heavily reward the one who presents all three heads and the heart of the foul beast as he has touched the bottom line of Fairy with how it devours worlds at will." Astrid explained making me hum in thought.

"Well, I suppose I shall find Drakul Karfang first through my divination to get the location of his horde in particular... Then we shall see if killing an apocalypse will bring the respect and adoration of the lands of Fairy." I announced with a confident smile as Astrid drooped in the air at feeling the bloodlust radiating from both myself and God Killer that was at my side.

And God Killer's projected desire to taste the blood of dragons was as clear as the howl of wind that the sword would make as I swung it. And thus I Traveled from my realm between space and time looking for hints as to where Drakul Karfang's holdings were.

In order to become the Dragonborn... Or something like that.
