Chapter 17

The arrangements for Scott and Olivia's wedding were taking place and the wedding day was approaching faster each passing day.

Scott and Olivia had to meet up frequently to talk about their plans regarding their married life and how they'd go about the entire process.

They decided to start with their shopping to prepare themselves for whatever they would need. Olivia's father had even gone as far as stopping Olivia from working since according to him, she needed more time to focus on her upcoming wedding and working would simply be a distraction for her.

"Dad, what are you doing here?" Olivia asked as soon as her dad walked in. She wasn't expecting him to pay her a visit and she was pretty surprised when Martha informed her of his presence.

"Don't be like that my sweet girl? You sound like you're not very happy to see your favourite parent and that breaks my heart," he said to her, wearing a fake sad expression on his face that made Olivia scowl at him.

"Favourite parent? Really dad? You still think that's valid? Well, unfortunately dad, you lost that role in my life the moment you decided to threaten me with my position at the company and force me to get married according to your timing simply because you didn't trust me enough. You can't possibly expect to still be my favourite parent after that," she fired harshly at him, not caring whether or not he was hurt by her words and Marcos simply let out a tired sigh.

"So what brings you here dad?" she asked impatiently.

"Well dear, I'm here because we really need to talk to Liv and I mean a very serious conversation," he tells her in a serious tone and Olivia didn't like how serious he sounded.

Her father wasn't one to speak in a serious tone except whatever he was about to say was very serious and the fact that he sounded this way meant whatever he was about to say might worry her.

"Is something wrong dad? Did something happen?" she asked, visibly worried.

She couldn't help but worry that something was going on with her dad and the mere thought alone bothered and scared her.

"Are you perhaps a dying dad? Do you have some incurable disease or something?" she asked in a whisper-like voice, as her heart slowly started to sink. She didn't like being negative but most of the time, she always thought the worst of any situation no matter how hard she tried not to.

"For goodness sake Olivia, of course not!" he debunked quickly, wondering how she even thought that far.

The last thing he had expected to hear from her was her asking if he was dying simply because he wanted to talk to her. He couldn't help but wonder why weird his daughter really was.
