Chapter-48 Eva's secret.. out......

Eva came out of Era's room and went to the on-call room. There she met Lara. She was staring at her phone, on seeing Eva , she ran her and said,

"Eva you are back, I was waiting for you.....see this...Steve sent me this, but I can't get it, just have a look, I can't understand, "

Eva came near and took her phone to check,

" it's a restaurant address, but why did he asked you out.... Did you guys plan something? "

Lara thought for a while,

" I don't think so, in the morning, even I can't remember what I spoke to him"

" hey that's fine, no need to ruck your brain, it's Steve, he might have planned something, so just go.... I won't mind," said Eva casually, she was in her own thoughts.

Lara keep babbling, and Eva was busy exploring her clues, till they got a common call, emergency call. They both ran to the ER, on her way Eva wore the coat but Era didn't acquired her body, Eva stopped for a while, and thought,

"that maybe because of of the stroke last night, but is it a good omen,.....now what, ...what am I going to do in the ER...uhh ...what a great timing", her speed reduced, Lara turned back to see her ,

" come on Eva, .... I am waiting for... you, let's go",

Eva was baffled , but her phone rang again,

" dad....!! you are my savior", she waved her hand showing her phone to Lara,

" go now I'll catch you later after the call", Lara ran away without her.

Now, Eva continued,

" yes Dad, I can't tell how much I wanna hug you, "

"Oh...so you remember me , just to avoid giving a reason , you avoided me .....now you wanna hug me",

She remembered that she had been rejecting his calls for almost a week,

" uhh ....Dad, I was busy.....you know, even ...now I had to go..." she said,

" Don't you dare Eva , .... don't you dare hang up my phone, " he said,

"No Dad ..I am not..."said Eva ,

he continued, " so you'll come tomorrow to see this abandoned old man ?"

" Oh come on Dad ,....this is going too far now.... when did I abandoned you?...ok fine I'll be there tomorrow,"

Eva said furiously and disconnected the phone.

Eva was curious about the words said by the detective, so she tried calling him, but the number was switched off, she understood that, there might be some trouble for him, and she won't be able to get in touch with him again.

Suddenly she felt dizziness, and realised that she is wearing Era's coat, she wanted to remove it, but before she could do that Era, acquired her body.

She was dizzy, and had a strong pain in her head, she looked around and thought what Eva was doing here, she tried to find for any note or a letter but, there wasn't any...

She checked her phone, there was a message from Lara, asking her to come fast, then she learnt that there might be some emergency, and rushed to the ER.

One of the patient was brought in with heart attack, he was in need of surgery immediately,

David was informed ,he rushed to the ER to attend the patient, checking the patient's condition, he thought of giving him a short treatment, just to keep him alive till the surgery, but before he speaks it out, Eva was done with the preparation, he heeded that she was not Eva, she's Era . They both as a team, gave the patient a short treatment and then performed the surgery together, the surgery went well and the patient was safe.

After clearing the mess Era went to David's office, he was eagerly waiting for her, he grabbed her hand, and sat on the sofa with her,

"Do you know how much I feared of losing you yesterday? I almost died with you, no Era don't go , don't you ever think of leaving me..."

Era was touched by his talk, and hugged him,

" even I don't want to sir,...may be because of that .....I came back from the door of death"

..they were in there affectionate moment,

David remembered something, and backed off,

"she'll kill me if she knows,"

Era laughed hearing that.

he asked her, " but why did you passed out that day?"

she tried to think but her head started paining again,

"No... don't.... it's ok.. I'll somehow find it, you don't need to worry about it " he said.

" How's Eva was she fine after that?" asked Era,

He sighed, " she was unconscious for whole day, Ben said it's not good for her,"

"Did he know about us?" she asked surprisingly,

" hmm, I can't hide it anymore,....they like eachother" he replied.

" Is it true ,Ben sir and Eva...hmm they'll look good together" she was happy to hear that.

David continued,

" don't you think you are doing her more harm than good, by helping her,... actually you are not helping her but putting someone's like in danger, someone who will trust her to his life in her hands, because of you.... her life , her career all will be ruined because of you...do you think this is a help Era?"

Era felt ashamed and was unable to lift her head out of repentant.

He said," I know you are a very good doctor but I want her to be the same, is it that hard Era ,"

She thought that it's better to tell him about Eva's condition, but was hesitating about, how Eva will take this, she said ,

" Sir, I know it is wrong , but she has a reason for this, and I can't tell you now ,"

The environment there became different, and to avoid further questions Era took off the coat , David kept quiet and realised that she is not willing to share, Eva woke up from her sleep, and looked around, she found herself in David office in front of him, he was staring at her seriously, she couldn't digest it and asked,

" Sir, Did Era do something wrong? Why am I here? and one more please, why are you angry on her?",

David was about to say something,

" what... ",

The door opened, and one of the interns came running,

"Sir ,.....that patient is having seizures, please come with me...."

David and Eva got up and started running , Eva grabbed the coat but David snatch it from her furiously, and kept it on table, she stopped there, but David held her hand and took her along.

Eva noticed that something was different about, David sir's behaviour but couldn't guess, what that was.....

they both entered the patients room , he was shivering vigorously.

David shouted at one of the interns ,

" I told you not to give him any medication until he regain consciousness, then why...?",

that intern was trembling with fear and ran away from there crying, David looked at Eva and called,

" What the hell are you waiting for....come on hold him" she ran towards the patient and grabbed him tightly, David infused some medications in him ,

the patient was finally stable, but Eva was not ,.....it was her first time seeing David shouting like that . When she was returning back, she unintentionally hit the stool and the infusion pipe inserted in the patient's hand uprooted, that caused a little bleeding from his hand , though that was not a big deal but for Eva it was enough to trigger.

On seeing blood , she felt dizzy and can hardly breathe, David was furious at her and shouted at her,

" you can't even do one thing properly....Eva,"

but when he saw that something was wrong with her,he ran to her and made her sit on the stool, inserted the pipe back , called other interns to take care of the patient, and took Eva away.

When Eva opened her eyes, she was in David's office and he was sitting before her ,and staring at her furiously, her heart pondered and she judged that David sir is suspicious about her,.....then at that moment, he asked ,the question that made Eva tremble,....,

"What is your problem Eva ? What happened to you?, ... Which I don't know ? don't dare to lie or hide anything?". ...
