Watch

Aselia's POV

His words transfixed me in my spot as I watched him and only him in utter disbelief. So, he wanted me to watch him, he challenged me. I smiled at him, a sarcastic smile.

I sat down and folded my legs one over the other as if getting ready to watch my favourite movie.

"You won't provide popcorns I assume?" I asked not blinking not taking my eyes off him and I was sure he suppressed a chuckle. Treia shot me another loathsome look before climbing on top of him.

I watched as they kissed passionately, as he undressed her body, fondling her, and making her moan. I still watched as their bodies collided, melting together, moulding into each other, moving in rhythms. But why was he watching me? Not for a second, his eyes flickered or left mine. Not even when he bit into her neck and sucked her blood. He still watched me and I did him, unwavering and unmoving as if we had been frozen in time.

Treia left as he asked her to, giving me another unpleasant look as she walked past me. But, I was too engrossed in watching him as he had instructed me, I wouldn't look away because that's what he had asked me to do. When did I become so benign? Well, it was all for my mission, that's what I kept telling myself. Was that true though? Did I not feel even a single bit of pull towards this gorgeous entity in front of me?

"Did you enjoy the show?" He finally asked sitting up in his bed.

"You lacked passion and enthusiasm. It was dull and was over too soon. It was meh." I gave him my detailed analysis. I couldn't give him the satisfaction of knowing I detested it. I had to act indifferent.

He threw his head back and laughed hard at my answer. His cackles became louder. This suited him more than sulking. "You are a rare piece, Aselia. I have never met anyone like you. You intrigue me and seems like you have more passion for intimacy since you easily judged me."

"Passion requires love and you are not in love with Treia. You merely use her for your desires and appetite." I shrugged.

"Are you in love with someone?" His question hit me. My life had no place for love, I was so consumed with seeking revenge that I had never given love much thought. It made me uneasy to get close to someone, to feel wanted by someone. It made me vulnerable and I don't do vulnerable. Is that why his touches bothered me so much?

"No, do I look like I am in love with someone?" He smiled at my answer.

"You know why I didn't visit you for three days? I was disappointed in myself for making you feel that I was forcing myself onto you. I have a rule never to do that with any female. Yet, you accused me and I understand that I had held you against your wishes. It has never happened before but something about you affects me. I don't want you to think I am taking advantage of you." He was feeling as uncontrollable in my presence as I was doing in his. Did he feel the same pull toward me?

"Glad that you saw the errors of your ways." I stood up to leave. I couldn't stay in his vicinity anymore, the tension between us was increasing.

"Where are you going?"

"Back to my room, I see your mood is better now and you are fed and your other needs are fulfilled..." I pointed and twirled my finger toward him.

"So you came to brighten up my mood. How thoughtful."

"I came so you won't keep sulking because of me and you promised me a sparring session."

"Soon, we will have a session soon." And he began to untangle his beautiful hair.

I left his room quietly, taking heavy steps toward my room. Why did he make me watch? It wasn't like I had any attachments to him then why was it bothering me so much? I was on a mission here and for that, I needed to remain in his good books without becoming intimate with him. There was no room for personal feelings. But, I hadn't thought it would become this difficult. The way he looked at me today, I knew he was imagining me in Treia's place. He is not gonna stop until he gets what he wants.

Entering my room I took off the beanie and slumped on my bed. I had to report to headquarters at the end of this week about my progress and I knew they would be sending Yurian soon. I had to come in contact with him. He would be leaving a communication device for me so I would be able to make contact. As I was searched and scanned thoroughly, I couldn't smuggle one with me.

Hours passed by as I lay there planning and plotting. Then the door opened and Xiran walked in. His attire was all black today, his damp hair open and he smelled like petrichor. It was intoxicating as our eyes met.

"Come with me," he said softly and I followed him picking up my beanie and wearing it on my way out.

"Where are we going?" I asked, curiosity creeping up on me.

"You will see." He strode with such ease, everything about him was the epitome of perfection. He used the dungeon lift which needed his handprint to operate. As we entered the lift he turned toward me, his expression darkening as I took a step back.

"Relax, I just want to say I am sorry. I was a jerk today. I shouldn't have done that." He didn't try to touch me this time, he just stood there with an apologetic face.

"Yes, you were. You deserve punishment now." I shrugged making him smile.

"Ok, let's hear your punishment." He crossed his arms.

"Hmm, how about you tell me a secret no one else knows."

"A secret? Really?" Somehow he wasn't expecting this.

"Yes, don't worry I will keep it safe." The lift dinged, indicating that we had reached wherever he was taking me.

"Come," he ushered me as the doors opened. It seemed like we had reached the roof of the hotel. A full moon adorned the sky as it glimmered down on us. I stepped outside with him. In a corner, a large divan had been set up with a blanket and cushions, facing the moon. He sauntered over and sat down on the divan and patted the right side.

"Come sit with me, I want to talk to you."
