Conspired War Part 5: Meeting with Jake

Now that Jaren's mission is completed he can stop acting like an idiot and go back to Conley. His father Edward has been acting like he was a drunk idiot to fool Eli's spy to give wrong information about Conley but now that Eli is gone everything should go back to normal at least for Conley that is. Even so he was unable to smile, whether it was real or not. He had just lost a close friend but the worst part was that he killed himself. He was not feeling like he accomplished something, rather he felt like he lost something precious to his first best friend!.

He remembered that his Grandmother Once told him something before she died 'Only when you lose your humanity is when you are prepared to be praised by everyone as a god' he didn't understand what she meant by it then but he felt it today, this made him wonder how much did she lose?, will he have to lose people closest to him just so he can protect the people didn't even know personally? Was this what it meant by being a true ruler? Even his Father had lost his love to his enemy (he can't marry her anymore because Conley had a one spouse rule).

Can He really take this responsibility? Can't get the answer , He always wanted to be a great Emperor just like his Grandmother but he didn't think he had it in him to endure this sort of satitution again. It took all his mental power to keep himself in check the whole time. Eli just wanted to marry someone he loved but just because he wanted to become an Emperor he lost everything, this gave him a lesson that one can't fulfill his/her duty without sacrificing something.

`Jola island: somewhere between Western Shore and Jola City`

The wind was howling, the sun was blazing the ground beneath it with all its might while the sandy desert just brushed it off as an everyday occurrence. In this hot sandy desert land a man was sitting on top of a sand dune with a peculiar structure beside him waiting for the enemy to cross through.

This was Kenny, one of the knights in Eugene's Army, he had been waiting here for 2 days now because he knew the distance between Western Shore and Jola City was really long. It takes 3 days to reach Jola on horseback so the enemy will be here today or at least tomorrow morning.

He had heard about the victory in the Eastern Front 2 days ago because they use Morse Code at night with lights the information already traveled here. He was worried because he had no army and just the Catapult with him but now his worries had subsided a little, if the Eastern Front won with this strategy then the Western Front can also win this War!.

After an hour

He was waiting for a huge army with full Armor Knights riding battle horses but what met him was very different. There were just 4 people riding horses towards Jola and by the looks of it they looked like peasants? Why would peasants be riding towards Jola? Did the Enemy Captain sent his Slaves to verify the situation if so then what should he do? Commander Hughes gave an order about saving all the slaves so should he let them go?

Jake and his subordinates have been riding for 2 days now, he already changed his clothes from the Duke Rayan's knight's armor to some simple clothes. He didn't believe Conley will attack someone without armor or weapon after all they would think that he was a messenger and let him pass through their Security to meet whoever is in charge then he will reveal he is a Conley spy.

`after few hours of riding`

Jake saw a 5 meter tall wall made up of stone it must have been made back when Jola was a trade City but right now it was very empty there were few knights on top of it with weird bows in their hands, when one of them saw Jake and others riding towards them he shouted

"Halt who are you!" He pointed his bow towards Jake and others.

"We are just slaves who escaped from the ships mister please let us enter!" Said Jake.

Jake thought Jola was made into a Conley base but now that he saw that there were only few people guarding the Western Wall, he understood he was wrong but still he has to save Eugene hence he will still meet with him.

Jake was standing in front of a 15 year old kid with Red hair , blue eyes and slightly brown skin. Jake went on his knees and performed a knight's salute to this young boy, not only him but also his other subordinates too.

"The meat is cooked, the wine has been placed on the table." Said Jake , these are the code words used by Conley and the secret faction in Ancorna who support Eugene to this Eugene smiled and said

"We had the proper wine there were not problems with the meal" Said Eugene with a funny smile then he continued

"Don't worry we don't need to talk in secret anymore we caught the spy"

After hearing this Jake stood up and said "If you say so your majesty even if got the spy there are more than 2000 enemies on your coastlines right now I believe his it's the right time to escape"

Eugene understood what Jake was saying.

Eugene was not supposed to get attacked in Jola , Conley planned to fake his mother's death and take her to Conley while Eugene get's abandoned to Jola and stays here for 6 months then leaves with a Conley ship that will arrive in december.

Eugene had to wait for 6 months in Jola because Conley and his mother knew that there was a spy in their ranks but Eugene changed this plan totally. Rather than getting ready to run away after 6 months, he planned to develop Jola and make it into an independent kingdom.

"There is no need to run away Ser Jake, we can take on this Dan Freeman whatever was his name" Said Eugene.

After Jake realized that Conley hadn't come to Jola but it was Eugene that was fighting back he thought if he eugered him to got to Conley in the broken ship that they brought when they came to Jola, He would listen but it turned out that he is way too stubborn and wants to die here with the people.

"Don't worry Ser Jake we are not the one losing here, I will tell you what to do with this our victory will be guaranteed." Said Eugene with a Smirk.
