In-game class selection

It was right then when a sudden beam of light shot towards Jay out of the darkness. Seeing them, he reflexively brought her hands up but noticed he didn't have any arms, legs, or body.

All he could do was watch the white beams like he was in a bad dream. But a few moments later, Jay sighed a relief. The rays of light weren't aimed toward Jay; they just simply flew past him.

Looking around in awe, he watched as even more white beams slowly covered the dark completely, only leaving white.

At that moment, Jay's senses returned as if being smashed by a wave of tidewater. His limbs and body also returned, along with her senses, but it didn't seem his clothing hadn't come along with her.

"Master~." Jay heard a lovely chirp behind him, followed by Uriel's whole body weight being thrown at Jay.

"Whoa…!" Jay coughed as he felt Uriel latch onto his back like a koala. "Uriel, where are we?"

"We're in the character selection." Uriel happily answered. "The place where you choose what you're future is going to be."

[Welcome, new player.] A voice suddenly reverberated throughout the white empty space, making Jay look left and right to find the source of the voice. [Please enter a user name.]

"A user name?" Jay mumbled to himself and rubbed his chin. "How about malice?"

Jay nodded approvingly at his naming ability; Uriel raised an eyebrow but soon shrugged it off.

[Username has been registered, now, please select main class and race.]

Just as the voice finished talking, a giant blue screen appeared out in front of Jay. It was the system interference Jay had heard so much about.

[Human][Elves][Dragons][Angles][Demons][Werewolves][Vampires][Dwarves][Beastmen][Fairies]

Those were the ten races available for all players to choose from. Jay had guessed that Uriel was an angel, so to him, the best choice was to choice was the demonic race. By selecting the demonic race, he would have a better chance of fighting angels if Uriel discovered that he was not the regressor or hero.

But it wasn't just that. Reading the description of the demon race, Jay thought it wasn't a bad idea for him to choose demons as his race.

Demons had a higher affinity with dark magic, which would defiantly help with fighting with Angles, but not all could be good. Demons' natural weakness is Angles, and Angles' natural weakness is demons; it was like water and fire. Only the strong one would be able to win.

But it didn't matter if angels were his weakness since he had Uriel by his side. Jay would be able to find out more about angles and then find a way to get rid of that disadvantage with angles.

[Demon race has been confirmed.]

"Huh?" Uriel looked up at Jay when she heard the voice. "Did you just choose the demon race?"

'Shit, did I mess up?' Jay thought as he tightened his lips. 'It's best if I reason with her.'

So turning around, Jay quickly made up a bullshit excuse. "I just thought it was the best choice there was."

"Best choice?! Why would you choose demons out of everything?! Why would you…" Uriel shouted with a spiteful look.

"Look, I know, but it's our best choice. Didn't you say it was god that was the bad guy? What's wrong with having an advantage over him? And with you, I can get rid of my weaknesses." Jay talked his best, trying to convince Uriel.

"Haaaa… fine, I trust you." Uriel sighed. "I didn't say that because I was uncomfortable with demons. I just never thought that our future hero would turn out to be a demon."

"Ahhhh… so that's it." Jay gave a weak chuckle before going along with the next step the system interference gave him.

[Choose the main class.]

The system interference then showed Jay many different main classes he could choose from, but there was one particular main class that caught his eye.

[Blessing from the Angel of Wisdom Uriel.]

[(Legendary rank) Jack of all trades: Can simply learn a wide variety of skills/abilities and be proficient with any weapon type.]

'A legendary rank!' Jay shouted inside his head in excitement. Even though he didn't know how good it this rank was, just from the word legendary, he knew it was good.

—--------------

Strength would increase players' overall damage output, physical power, and carrying capacity. Which would mean some weapons wouldn't be able to be wielded without the minimum strength requirements.

Agility increases swiftness and movement speeds. It also would heighten the thought process and overall reflexes. Growing this stat also meant better body balance and coordination.

Constitution would higher your base hit points, making you more durable. Furthermore, it would enhance the cell division in your body to heal wounds faster, and it would also lower your fatigue accumulation and would extend your lifetime.

The defense would raise resistance and toughness to many things. With higher stats in defense you can find your skin getting harder, thus giving it great defense value. Resistance to hot or cold temperatures would increase.

Intelligence is the main factor of mana points and demonic energy as it would increase both categories but it also has different effects like reasoning, cognition, knowledge, memory, logic, and rationality.

Dexterity is how well you understand how to use your weapon to bring out its maximum potential. Either to swing your weapon master or to hit harder with your weapon, its stats like these that are crucial on the battlefield where the last millisecond counts.

The increase in charisma would affect persuasiveness skills, leadership, and succession planning. It changed the general vibe and charm around your body.

Soul would help Jay right against mind attacks on his head and soul and would also make his mind attacks on others more potent . It would increase the chances of successful mind control or hypnosis.

Willpower was simply grit, the mentality it would give someone to keep going. The mindset would make them to never give up. And grit was something important as losing hope in something would bring openings in battle.

Perception was the level of view around itself. Even with your eyes closed, you would be able to know what was going on. Increasing perception stat would enhance your vision and field of view and expand the perception bubble. The perception bubble was basically an area around the person, and in that small area, you would know what was going on in every inch of the bubble. Since Jay's perception skill was at one, his bubble would be five yards.

Luck increases his chances of getting better drops when opening chests. When it's high enough, then maybe you would be able to draw the winner lotto numbers in one try.

As Jay read through his stats, a bright white light shined upon the two causing them to cover their squinted eyes with their arms.

[Welcome to your new beginning… and your only ending.]
