Training?

"Master, you should try," Uriel said while tossing the spear back at Jay, then softly muttered to herself. "Ugh… I got dirt in my mouth."

"You want me to do that?" Jay asked with a funny look on his face, but after thinking about it, a familiar sense came upon him. For some reason, he felt confident in doing the same techniques as Uriel. "Alright, I'll do it."

"Heh…" Uriel smirked when she saw his cool-headed demeanor. "There's a single ghoul coming towards you at two o'clock, five seconds out. And there's also another group of five ghouls coming from your ten o'clock forty seconds out."

After processing Uriel's words, Jay turned his body towards his two o'clock and took a thrusting stance, and soon enough, a ghoul was seen running at Jay.

Seeing the frenzied zombie coming his way, Jay couldn't help but gulp, but as the person he was, Jay cleared his mind and tightened his grip as he got ready to take on his first opponent.

'Her movements are still clear in my mind.' Jay thought while taking a step forward. His sharp eyes goggled onto the ghoul in full concentration.

The moment the ghoul entered the range of Jay's spear, it swiftly shot out like a scorpion's tail, implying it right through its right eye socket. But unlike Uriel's powerful thrust that resulted in the complete annihilation of the ghoul's head, Jay's attack was much weaker. Though nevertheless, his form was still perfect,

Black hot sticky blood spilled out of its eye and tricked down the wood of the spear, making its way over Jay's hand.

Jay shivered before letting go of his spear, causing the dead corpse of the ghoul to fall over. But Jay also fell onto his knees while holding his mouth tightly. The feeling of stabbing someone with a spear felt so shrinking to him. Even though it was just a game, it all felt real. Especially the blood and the wounds of the ghoul.

As a regular human that has not seen such gore in his life, this was a normal reaction for Jay.

"What are you doing?!" Uriel screamed, snapping Jay back into reality. "The moment you let go of your weapon, you open yourself to countless openings! Hesitate, and you die!"

But Uriel's words reached Jay a bit too late.

The ghoul Jay had just skewered through the eye suddenly regained strength and clawed at Jay's chest, ripping the clothes off his chest along with his flesh.

Jay's eyes winded, but then raised his right foot and kicked away the ghoul, sending it flying and tumbling on the ground twenty feet away. Now for sure, that ghoul was dead.

"ARGH! It fucking hurts!" Jay cried in agony, holding his bleeding chest. '"Why the hell I'm I feeling pain?!"

"As I said earlier, this blessing you have is a cure, and this is one of them," Uriel answered.

"What does that mean?! Just do something, aren't you an angel?!" Jay shouted while rolling on the ground in pain.

"Hmmm… healing factor seems to be enhanced," Uriel mumbled to herself as she watched Jay's wound close in the blink of an eye. Jay also saw this and gasped in shock.

"That hurt like a bitch!" Jay shouted and slashed away at the remaining ghouls. 'Slashing seems to work well against flesh.'

But calming himself down, Jay stood up and took a deep breath.

Jay swished his head around to Uriel and asked. "What the hell was that? How did the wound on my chest heal that fast?"

"It's a demon's trait. Since there aren't people like clerks or oracles in the demon world to bring down blessings, the demons have an increased healing rate."

"And you're saying that I'm feeling pain because of this curse?" Jay asked as he barely got up on his feet.

"That's right, but there's also one more thing." Uriel pointed out. "Open your stat screen."

Jay slanted his eyes in confusion when he heard Uriel's request, but he still heeded her words.

[Level: 1] Where the stats that caught his attention.

"Huh? It should, at least, go up by one, right?" Jay said in puzzlement. "Maybe a glitch?"

"No, it's not a glitch. You simply cannot level up. That is the curse."

Jay shifted his gaze towards Uriel with bafflement, the only emotion in his eyes.

'What? Then how I'm, I supposed to get stronger? Where's the excitement in playing this game?!' Jay shouted internally.

"That is one of the so-called hero's blessings," Uriel said. "You won't be able to gain exp points like other players. You will have to train like a normal human if you want to become stronger, Master."

"I-I'm going to have to train? Physically?" Jay mumbled. "Where's the fun in that?"

"There isn't going to be any fun during your training. Only your agony will follow." Uriel seriously said.

'Shit... I can't even say anything or else...' Jay groaned, placing his palms over his face in stress. All he wanted to do was have fun playing a game. Maybe make a few friends in the process, but this was just going south for Jay.

"The hero's blessing doesn't just come with bad things," Uriel spoke up, trying to exhilarate Jay even just a little bit.

"Oh, yea? What's that?" Jay ironically said, making an exaggerated motion with his hand.

"Your in-game status will affect your real-life status," Uriel said, causing Jay to stand up. Then, gaping at Uriel as if she was a mad woman.

"It would affect me in the real world?" Jay asked with a little smile on his face that said he didn't really believe her words.

"Yes, as the chosen one, that would be the case. But, if you were completely powerless in the real world, then how would you be able to save anyone?" Uriel shrugged her shoulders. "If you were to learn magic here, then you would expect to be able to use it in the real world."

The news struck Jay harder than a baseball bat. If he could use in-game skills in the real world, then it would open so many paths he could take other than becoming the new CEO of her mother's company.

"Let's start with the training." Jay pivoted and faced Uriel with a determined look. He was ready to start any time of the day. Not being able to level up was a small price to pay, considering Jay would be one of the strongest in the real world.

"Calm down." Uriel giggled. "I'll train you until you're half dead, so for now, why don't you just focus on clearing this dungeon?"

"Consider it done," Jay said with determination in his eyes. Then, grabbing his beginner's spear, he ran further into the dungeon with a craze in his eyes.

[Strength has been increased by 0.01]

[Agility has been increased by 0.01]

[Constitution has been increased by 0.01]

[Dexterity has been increased by 0.01]

[Willpower has been increased by 2]

[Perception has been increased by 0.01]

Several notifications erupted in Jay's vision as he ran through the dungeon grounds, cutting up ghouls that came into his sight. Crushing large golems that dared to block his path. However, it did still weird for him to stab flesh like that.
