The old man’s story

Soon after, Uriel flinched hard before her whole body fell to the ground in pain.

"A-arghh!" She screamed as she lifted her attire to reveal a strange glowing insignia in her lower abdominal region.

"You want to know something funny?" Jay snickered as he crouched in front of Uriel. "I'm not the hero you came here for."

"W-what?" Uriel looked up at Jay with perplexity in her eyes.

"My real name is Jay Hart, not Jay!" Jay's snickering quickly turned into hysterical laughter. "How funny is that! You came all the way down here to look for the future hero, but you somehow messed up and ended up sleeping with a random guy!"

"W-what are you talking about? How could I have gotten the wrong person?" Uriel mumbled as she felt her insides shatter.

"You tell me that."

"Y-you bastard!" Uriel shouted, her broken eyes turning sharp and fierce once again. "Do you not know the severity of the situation?! If the same thing happens, your whole world is doomed!"

"You're acting as if I should care about everyone in this world." Jay's cold eyes took Uriel aback. "Since I have the power, it wouldn't matter if I decided to escape with my family." Jay smiled ominously.

"All the power? You?!" Uriel laughed as she stood up and looked down at Jay. "Don't make me laugh!" She then raised her curled fist, getting ready to attack Jay. But when she did, the only emotion on her face was stupefaction and shock.

Her fist had stopped right in front of Jay's face. Even though she tried to push her fist forwards, an invisible force compelled her.

Then followed an agonizing pain from where her insignia was.

"Don't even try," Jay smirked.

Then again, Uriel fell flat on the ground in a spasm, clutching onto her throbbing stomach.

"W-what did you do to me?" Uriel asked while stuttering.

"Oh, this is just a skill that creates a master-servant bond with anyone I desire," Jay answered. "You're the servant, and I'm the master."

"Where did you get such a skill….?"

"The old man outside, he really did give me an unbelievable skill."

"Y-you…! You better stop this right now!" Uriel shouted as she struggled to get up on her feet. "Do you know the consequences your actions will bring you?!"

"Yes, I am aware." Jay nodded with a sly smile on his face. "So just go along with whatever training you were going to give me. So that was I can get stronger."

"What makes you think I would go along with you?" A slight grin was created on her roughened face.

"Because I'm the master?" Jay said before, giving an absurd order to Uriel. "I order you to bow down and spear your face on the ground."

"What? Did you reall-" Before Uriel could realize what was happening, she got down on both knees and kowtowed towards Jay, her forehead pressed against the ground.

The human woman just watched everything unfold from behind, speechless.

'What I'm I doing…?' Uriel thought eternally, staring intensely at the cold, dusty stone tiles of the temple. Never in her billions of years of living did she think she would be bowing down to another than god himself.

"Do you understand now?" Jay said and ordered Uriel to get back up. "I have full control over you, so just obediently follow my orders."

"Y-yes." Uriel finally agreed as there wasn't anything there she could do.

"You will be training me just as you said you were."

"Yes…" Uriel nodded obediently, but in her head, there were different thoughts. 'I will put you through the most hellish training that you've ever been! So cruel you would rather want to be torched in hell!'

But as those thoughts surged through Uriel's mind, a sharp pain came from her belly again.

"Hmmm…? Did you have some thoughts about me?" Jay asked as he noticed Uriel struggling to keep her composure.

"N-no." Uriel shook her head.

Jay then turned around to the human woman behind him, then spoke, "Your husband is waiting for you outside."

"Coltin…" She mumbled before standing back up and bowed toward Jay. "Thank you."

"You shouldn't be thanking me; I am more sorry than anything else."

"What do you mean?" The human woman had a face of confusion.

"I think it would be best for you to see for yourself," Jay said with an uncertain expression on his face.

Outside the temple…

"Oh my god… Coltin…" The human woman's hand shook as she touched the wrinkled face of the old man. Salty drops of tears flowed down her tight pink cheeks. "Just what happened here…? Why are you so old…?"

"Haha…" Coltin laughed, but he couldn't hide his sorrow. "I'm sorry, Violet… I tried all I could…."

"W-what do you mean you tried all you could?!" Violet screamed and pounded Coltin's chest. "I-I knew that we shouldn't have come to this place…."

"Ummm… if you don't mind me asking… just what happened?" Jay suddenly asked.

"Ah… well, basically…"

To sum it all up, during the time both married couples came to the temple, it was the almighty one who had created the spacial manipulation around Violet and that monster, but the big factor was that the almighty one banished Coltin from entering the temple, thus not being able to help his own wife.

But all hope didn't seem to be lost. It was only Coltin who was banished from the temple, so another person would be able to help Violet, right? Wrong, the jungle they were in was completely isolated from the outside world, and not to mention that this jungle was located in the demon world. Even if someone were to stumble across this jungle, it would have been a demon. It was extremely lucky for Coltin to meet people like Jay and Uriel, who were demons but also a human and angel.

So out here, outside the temple, Coltin had been waiting for whoever would show up. After a few days, he adapted to his new lifestyle. Washing his clothes and body from the frequent rainfall, caught food and such as birds to keep him alive, and spent most of his time in front of the temple door watching for people.

"Wait, why did the almighty one do this to you?" Uriel asked with a surprised look on her face.

"I don't quite remember, but he said something about it being a sacred land, but I call bullshit. How can you call that sacred land with that kind of demonic monster inside… no offense." Coltin said.

"Scard land…? There's no way, right..." Uriel said as she turned around back towards the temple gate.

"What is it," Jay asked.

"N-nothing…" Uriel tried to play it off, but it failed.

"I order you to tell me." Jay asserted, and Uriel immediately started talking.

"If it's something that makes the almighty one come down to the underworld to protect it, then I'm guessing there's some powerful artifact in this temple," Uriel explained. "Divine being such as the almighty one cannot affect the underworld, so there's a chance it's still here in this temple. But there is a risk; if we venture too deep or take this artifact, then 99% the almighty one would come down and would trap us in a spatial manipulation just like what he did to Violet."

"Thank you for that." Jay complemented ironically.

"God, what the hell is that…." Uriel mumbled as she touched her lips.

"I see you're making good use of it," Coltin said.

"Yea, thank you for that." Jay gave Coltin a thumbs up.

"No, it should be me who should be saying thank you." Coltin slightly bowed, not too much because of his aching back.

"It's still sad… you're nearly reaching your end while I'm so young."
