Hello mother

While walking to the dinner table, Jay stretched his stiff neck muscles. He had been on the game for about an hour and thirty, but he didn't feel as bad as he did before for some reason.

Patting his neck, he realized that it wasn't stiff; it was just packed with high-density muscles.

After getting a feel of his neck, Jay worked his hand down to his chest and to his stomach.

"Whoa..." Jay muttered after feeling his hard stomach and smirked. "To think I gained about two years' worth of muscles in an hour, it's a damn steal."

Nevertheless, it was still a unique phenomenon to Jay. Enough so that he started drifting into another world just by staring at his body for too long.

But he quickly snapped back to reality when he sniffed a familiar scent of sweet and spicy in the air. And like a hungry dog, Jay scurried towards the dinner table.

"You bought chicken?!" Jay exclaimed when he saw two boxes of chicken on the birch-colored wooden table. His sister was sitting on one side, cleaning off a chicken bone, and Maria on the other side, taking out a bit of a chicken wing in a subtle etiquette manner.

"Why are you eating it like that?" Jay asked, his eyebrows slanting as he grabbed two wings and shoved them into his mouth. Then pulling back, he was able to extract all the meat from the bones completely. "You're treating it like some gourmet dish."

Maria stared at Jay for a split second before gently dropping her wing onto her plate. Then standing up, Maria leaned her upper body toward Jay.

"Yea... that's defiantly the odor of a female..." Maria mumbled as she tilted her head sideways and gave Jay a skeptical look.

Amy, who realized what was going on, dropped her Jaws and darted at Jay with pure admiration in her eyes. 'Wow! He really grew some balls and secretly brought a girl home! Good luck with mom, hehe.'

"And did you somehow get bigger?" Maria asked, gazing down at Jay's new build.

Jay, on the other hand, didn't know how to respond. He had already told her that he didn't bring any girls home, but Jay was sure that the sniff she took had confirmed all suspicions.

'Man... is she some dog or something?' Jay cursed inwardly.

"Bringing home a girl now without any fear from his mother.... you've grown a lot. I'm proud of you." She spoke in her sweet, loving, maternal tone. She is showing all the love she has for her children, which causes several levels of discomfort to Jay and Amy.

"Hmmmm...?" Both Jay and Amy muttered in unison.

"I was wondering when you wouldn't start giving a single shit of a word I say."

"Did you hurt your head or something?" Jay questioned, feeling a bit creeped out by his mother.

"I'm perfectly fine, so follow me." Maria smiled, then turned around to walk into an enclosed part of the apartment, away from the living room and kitchen where Amy was eating.

Jay didn't say anything and glanced back at Amy and saw she was also at a loss for words. So Jau simply followed behind Maira silently.

"What did you want to talk about... mom?" Jay asked when Maira finally stopped walking. His forced smile wavered when he stared deep into Maria's eyes.

"I want to meet this girl," Maria said, causing Jay's smile to vanish completely without a trace.

He had two choices here, either lie or tell the truth, but Jay didn't know which choice was the right answer.

The fact that Maria had been praising him after bringing a girl home disturbed Jay a lot. Jay was already sure that Maria knew that a girl was in his room, so it was a risk to lie and then disappoint his mother.

"Yes, she's a nice woman, different from the rest," Jay said while scratching his neck to hide that fact he had gulped out of nervousness.

"I'll decide on that," Maria said before walking back towards the living room and to Jay's room. "And if I find out you brought some who*e or some rich, ignorant woman, you really won't be dating until I find you a decent woman to marry."

"Yea..." Jay softly chucked, but on the inside, he was sweating buckets. 'Ah, shit... I really fucked up... I should have just denied everything mum was saying....'

It didn't seem long, but they were already in front of Jay's door in, which Maria had swung open as if she was part of a S.W.A.T team.

But what followed right after started Jay and even more so Maria.

"Hello, mother!" Uriel greeted Maria by grabbing her hands and smiling. But nevertheless, that wasn't the only thing that surprised Jay.

It was the fact that behind Uriel, everything was swept everything clean, and from the looks of it, it seemed Uriel had cleaned every corner of the room without leaving a single spot.

"Oh?" Maria raised an eyebrow at Uriel's particular behavior.

'What are you doing...?' Jay muttered inwardly to himself, but unexpectedly he received a reply from Uriel.

'Don't worry, master. I have this all under control.' Uriel said, causing Jay to clutch his head from the weird tingling in his head.

"What's your name?" Maria asked.

"It's Uriel, mother." Uriel respectfully replied.

"Do you know who I am?"

Uriel tilted her head and stared intensely at Maria's face but soon shook her head. "No, I do not..."

Truth be told, Uriel knew exactly who Maria was as she was the angel of wisdom. She knew that Maria was one of the wealthiest people on earth; she also knew her likes and dislikes. So long story short, Uriel knew all the ways to please Maria.

"Hmm…." Maria nodded her head. "What's your profession?"

"I'm the owner of a cafe in the city," Uriel responded.

"Owner, you say…. How old are you again?"

"Eighteen… and yes, I take care of both of my parents," Uriel spoke as if she knew what Maria would ask next.

"Oh….?" Maria's face lit up in surprise. "You do drugs?"

"Only cigars, not too many. I can quit anytime."

"You drink?"

"I prefer wine on special occasions."

Jay watched from the sidelines of the back-and-forth conversation between the two. He was speechless at how fast they were conversing.

"What did you see in my son that attracted you?" Maria finally asked her last question.

"It was a particular light I saw inside of him," Uriel said in a meaningful voice. "The light that would shine in the darkness at its full might when all other candles wither away…. Also, since he's pretty like his mother." Uriel ended it off by sweet-mouthing Maria.

"Oh, please." Maria laughed and rolled her eyes with a smile.

'Wait, that worked?' Jay thought, shocked. He had tried his best to sweet mouth his mother countless times, but it would never get a reaction like this out of her.

"When are you going to propose yet?" Maria chuckled while looking at Jay.

"P-propose…? I need to save up money for a ring…." Jay muttered. He was still trying to get around how this situation was unfolding.

"Oh right…" Maria gasped in realization. "You still didn't succeed in the position of the owner of the company…."

"Well, yea…?" Confusion was writing all over Jay's face.

"If that's the case, then from this point on, you're the company's owner." Maria approached Jay and spoke while patting his shoulder like a proud parent. "To think you would come this far…."

"Huh…?"

"Whoa…. Congrats…" Uriel clapped her hands.

"Huh…???"
