When Guilt Shackles Heart

If Celine can erase some of her memories, the umpteenth thing she wants to forget is the incident two days ago when she was drunk and unconscious at a dinner party with the crew and the drama cast.

She felt very embarrassed after remembering all the things that happened that night. Especially regarding her question: 'Why aren't you wearing clothes?' Because of that, she has no face to meet Jayden.

Celine's head at that time felt so dizzy, and her mind was empty that she spoke without thinking clearly. And, of course, the answer to that stupid question is because she vomited on Jayden's shirt!

Did Celine remember that? Yes! She remembers everything after waking up in the morning!

Despite feeling embarrassed, Celine still apologizes to Jayden and takes his car to the carwash so it doesn't smell like alcohol anymore.

Luckily, Jayden didn't scold her till she died or mock her for throwing up on his shirt. Instead, he let Celine clean the car as a compensation fee.

All problems are solved there. At the same time, Celine swore to herself that she would never drink wine again!

"You are crazy. It's good that Jayden isn't mad at you. He would have already scolded you if he had no sense of understanding. And, of course, you must have been the first person to throw up on his shirt. Is it counts as an achievement?" Lucia said while chuckling a little and mocking Celine after remembering their chat over the phone yesterday.

Sitting next to Lucia, who was busy driving, Celine responded casually, "Even now, I'm still embarrassed if I cross paths with him. But what else can I do? We live in the same house. No matter how I avoid him, I still meet him."

Celine's index finger twirled a pinch of her brown hair that looked so soft. Her blue eyes fixed on the dense road ahead of them.

Because their relationship is very close, like a best friend, they often spend time together. This afternoon, Celine deliberately invites Lucia to buy some coats at the mall to prepare for the cold in Arc City later.

In addition, Celine also brought Lucia to do skin and hair care at her favorite beauty salon. And now she feels more confident. She felt that her beauty noticeably increases drastically.

Celine was sure that if she blinked her eyes flirtatiously in front of Jayden, the man would immediately fall in love with her at that very second!

Okay, no. Celine was kidding. For God's sake, she didn't dare to do that!

Instead of making Jayden fall in love, how if she be strangled to death by Jayden?

Celine hurriedly shook to get that silly thought out of her head. No. She still wants to live.

Now Celine stared at the sky that looked a little dark, worried about whether it would rain or not. Even though it shouldn't rain in summer, no one can predict the impact of globalization anymore, right?

Even as far as her eyes looked at the sky, she could see many piles of black clouds. In her heart, she prayed that the sky would be sunny again and drive the black clouds away.

It's been twenty minutes of driving, and the car they were riding in several times caught a red light. Crowded streets like this are not a foreign sight for residents of big cities.

They have to be patient waiting for the color change of traffic lights. And at the moment when the traffic light changed from red to green, Lucia stepped again on the gas pedal vaguely. She muttered regretfully along with the oncoming car, "Forgive me for not being able to accompany you at the banquet. If I had been there, the incident would never have happened."

Lucia's speech was successful in making Celine look at her. Celine's fingers no longer played a pinch of hair that she had been twirling for ten minutes straight. "What are you saying? It's not like you can't accompany me for no apparent reason. Your Mom is sick. Even if you insist on accompanying me that night, I won't allow it. It's not a big deal, anyway. There's no need to feel bad about yourself like that."

Celine paused for a moment. She continued, "How about your Mom now? Is she okay?"

A heavy sigh let out by Lucia. The woman, who was two years older than Celine, nodded her head. "Mn. Much better. My big brother came last night so that I could leave Mom in the hospital. And it seems that Mom will stay at my brother's house for three months as long as I'm abroad later."

Celine looked sadly at Lucia. Her outstretched hand patted the manager's right shoulder and said sympathetically, "I hope your Mom can get a suitable kidney donor soon. I'm sure, shortly, you will find it!"

Lucia smiled softly. Celine's words a little amused her. "I hope so. Thank you very much. I feel better."

Celine took her breath away. She often felt bad for not being able to help Lucia, while Lucia always supported her.

In the past, Celine had thought about announcing this news on her social media account to help Lucia get a kidney donor for Luna, her mother.

Celine's social media account has more than three million followers. However, as a celebrity, she cannot act rashly due to the agreement with her agency.

If she continues to do so, it is not impossible that later she will be scolded by the agency because it has become a public spotlight to reap a lot of negative comments.

Besides that, the past year has been an adamant time for Lucia and her family. After her mother was diagnosed with kidney failure, Lucia and her brother worked together to find a suitable kidney donor for their mother.

However, finding a kidney donor is not an easy thing to do. The proof is that one year has passed, but their efforts have not yielded results.

TING!

Celine's cell phone suddenly rang. A new message appears on the screen of her phone.

Celine hurried to take her phone out of the bag and read the message's contents. A second later, she said half pleadingly to Lucia, "Can you drive me to my apartment? Hiller was suddenly there. He's waiting for me. Ah, one more. Can you deliver my groceries to Jayden's house? I can't take them with me."

"Hiller?" Lucia muttered involuntarily, her right eyebrow raised in wonder. "Ah, well. I'll take you there now. After that, I'll take your things to Jayden's house, as you requested."

"Thank you very much. For the hundredth time, I'm counting on you, Lucia." Celine is happy.

Lucia replied, " You can count on me whenever you want."

After that, Celine leaned her back on the chair, and her fingers moved nimbly over the screen of her phone, typing a reply message for Hiller.

'To: Hiller

Could you wait for me? I'm coming in ten minutes. I'm on my way.'

Send.
