The Angel Of Salvation

Thump ...

Thump ...

Thump ...

Celine's heart rate grew faster and faster as an unstoppable sense of anxiety haunted her.

It had been thirty minutes since she had contacted Lucia. However, since the phone call ended abruptly, she didn't know whether Lucia would manage to send someone else here to pick her up or not.

Thunder and lightning strike from the sky to produce creepy sounds that could make the soul tremble. Sitting in her chair, Celine couldn't cover up her anxiety. Her body was moving to see things out there through the blurry window. Her eyes didn't stop looking around.

Due to the raging storm, visibility was limited. Several times their car was hit by gravel and other objects blown away by the wind. This situation makes the atmosphere even tenser.

In this kind of situation, even if someone dared to pick her up here, would that person manage to find her car among the dozens of cars parked on the side of the road?

"No other incoming messages yet?" Rayn asked suddenly, breaking the silence that had struck.

Celine glanced at the cell phone she had placed beside her seat. She replied weakly, "What to expect? I'm unsure if I successfully sent the location to Lucia."

Celine slammed her head behind Rayn's chair. She couldn't afford to think more. Unlike her, Rayn also hit his head on the steering wheel. They were both exactly like people who were desperate and lost all hope.

KNOCK!

KNOCK!

KNOCK!

They gasped after someone out there tapped the car window next to Celine.

A tall guy was standing beside their car. He wears only a thin white T-shirt and black jeans.

His hair also covers half of his mysterious face.

Celine shifted her seat away from the direction of the window, terrified. "WHO IS THAT GUY?!" she screamed while holding onto Rayn's shoulder, asking for protection.

Rayn was suddenly nervous. But he still tried to calm down and looked at the man who kept knocking on the window. And because the car's glass was frosted and filled with dew, they could not see the person's face.

"Calm down. I don't think that guy had any bad intentions. He's not carrying a weapon," Rayn whispered to Celine after finding out if that guy's hand was empty.

Celine remained terrified. Accordingly, she shifted her sitting position to another side.

On the other hand, Rayn took a deep breath as he placed his finger over the car's window opening button. After feeling confident enough, he pressed the button slowly, making a gap of ten centimeters open and inviting the wind and rainwater in.

The man who realized that the window's car beside him was open immediately shifted his body to the left side, standing right in front of the half-open window.

He positioned his lips right in the gap and shouted with a booming sound, "QUICKLY GO TO MY CAR NEAR THE BUS STOP! THIRTY METERS FROM HERE!"

Celine's body suddenly froze as her eyes widened in disbelief after she realized that his voice sounded familiar to her. Her eyes swept over the man—white hair, tall body, a voice that tends to be hoarse but sexy.

Suddenly, the man tucked his hair back, revealing a face they both knew.

"J-Jayden?"

"WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?! HURRY UP AND GET OUT!" Jayden shouted so violently that veins appeared on his forehead and neck.

"He's Jayden! He's Jayden!" tell Rayn. Too late to recognize him.

"QUICKLY GET OUT! OPEN THE DOOR!" Jayden snapped as he forced open the door on Celine's locked side.

Thunder in the sky was continuously visible. Lightning flashes also struck when the wind was getting stronger.

Celine shifted her seat, and her heart filled with panic. Therefore, she immediately decided when her hand touched the car door. "Rayn, I'd go with him!"

CLACK!

Celine got out of the car. A bunch of water and wind suddenly hit her body, making her almost fall in the wind if Jayden didn't immediately hold her hand tightly.

"Don't let go of my hand and watch your footsteps too. We go now!" After that, Jayden ran while holding Celine's hand tightly.

Celine followed him headlong. The streets are full of water. And the high heels that she wore almost made her fall several times. Because of that, she tried to focus on balancing her footsteps.

Jayden clasped her hand very tightly until Celine could feel the coldness of his palm. And now, she began to wonder. How long has Jayden been out in a storm like this?

Did he have trouble finding her car among the many others?

Isn't he feel cold?

After running long enough, Jayden suddenly stopped his footsteps. His other hand extended open the car door, gesturing for Celine to enter immediately.

"Hurry! I'll move your suitcases to my car! Stay still, and don't go anywhere!"

Before Celine answered him, Jayden had pushed her body forcibly into the car and closed his car door half slammed.

After making sure that Celine was safe, he immediately ran away.

Lucia walked down a hallway with a worried face while carrying a cup of warm tea in her hand. Her footsteps looked so hurried, as if she couldn't wait to arrive in a small room not far from the hall where the crew and players were.

When she entered the room, the warm temperature of the room immediately touched her skin. Contrast with all the coldness she's got out there.

"I brought you some hot tea. Drink it. It will make you feel much better," Lucia said after closing the door and walking over to someone staring at her with a sigh.

Celine received the cup of hot tea and took a few sips. When Lucia sat beside her, she placed the cup of hot tea on the small table beside her.

Two thick blankets wrapped around her body because she almost got hypothermia after a previous incident.

Fortunately, she and Jayden safely arrived at the airport. However, it took an hour for them to come because many roads were covered by fallen trees, making it difficult to find their way to the airport.

It doesn't just get there. Shortly after Jayden finished loading all of Celine's suitcases into the trunk of his car, a tree trunk the size of an adult's hand that was blown away by the wind suddenly shattered their vehicle's mirror.

So, along the way, they endured the cold as wind and rainwater entered their car blindly. Therefore, they immediately changed their wet clothes at the airport.

Lucia was one of the witnesses, shocked by Celine's pale face and cold body. When Celine changes her clothes, she immediately asks Simon to help find a room with a heating machine to stabilize Celine's body condition. And here they are.

"What about Jayden?" asked Celine hoarsely. After parting at the airport entrance thirty minutes ago, she has not had time to meet Jayden again. Her weak body seemed not to allow her to see Jayden and thank him.

"Jayden is fine. Before I got here, I gave him a cup of hot coffee. He was hanging out with Simon and the others. Act as if nothing happened."

Celine smiled in a knot. "Thank God he's okay. Later, I want to thank him formally. I owe him."

Lucia patted Celine on the shoulder. "Focus on yourself first. Because after this, we will pat the long journey to Arc City. We'll be on the plane for fourteen hours. Try to get some sleep and rest. You will feel better when you wake up."

Celine nodded as she pulled up the blanket she hugged. She was already feeling a little better. "Tell Jayden that I will recoup all his losses later."

Lucia stood up. "Okay, I'll tell him. Get some rest. I'll take care of some things first."

Again, Celine nodded her head. And when the door in front of there closed, she tried to lay herself on a chair.

Her eyes closed slowly. However, a voice suddenly came from nowhere in her ears. Simultaneously, tears rolled down from her tightly closed eyes.

'Celine, I promise I'll take care of you. When you're a little older, I'll tell you everything. I'll tell you how horrible and despicable the demons who took your elder sister's life are. I promise.'
