A Terrible Morning With Bad Luck

This morning's airport looks so boisterous, filled with human traffic who are about to leave the country or have just arrived.

Something different happened this morning. If usually, the sky is bright blue with birds flying in the sky freely, then this morning it rained heavily with blowing solid winds.

Rainstorms at the end of summer are rare. The Meteorological Agency had predicted this some time ago. But people did not prepare themselves for the arrival of the storm.

Most of the crew and drama players who will depart using one plane have gathered in a medium-sized hall provided by the airport staff.

Later, they are all directly dispatched from Grilef City to Arc City without transit in certain areas. However, until half past eight in the morning, only about seventy-five percent of the people gathered in the Hall. In contrast, the other twenty-five percent hasn't arrived yet.

Unlike all the safe situations at the airport, Celine feels different.

Her eyes were already moving restlessly with a faintly wrinkled forehead. It's been five minutes since she bit her lower lip while trying to find a way to get to the airport. She was stuck in the middle of a rainstorm with the car engine off for more than an hour.

"How? Which part is roughly damaged? Can you try it one more time?" She fidgeted in the middle seat of the car, staring at the personal driver who was still trying to operate the vehicle.

The drainage system is quite good in this area, but the water volume is not commensurate with drainage because the rainfall is so high. Because of that, Twenty-five centimeters of water flooded the roadway.

"Still can not. I've tried it many times," complained Rayn looking at Celine with a pale face through the small glass above the dashboard. "If it's okay, let me check the engine outside."

Celine immediately shook her head. She doesn't want Rayn to do that. "Are you fucking kidding me? Look at the people stuck in the cars in front and behind us! None of them came out of fear!"

Currently, Celine's car stops on Blate street, five kilometers away from the airport where she is going. Not only that, but many vehicles are also parked on the road because they don't want to take significant risks.

Moreover, driving while crashing into high puddles is not a good idea. It could be that their car breaks down in the middle of the road and adding to the level of misfortune.

As a result of this kind of rain, grocery stores on the side of the road closed. Cell phone signals are also complicated to get.

Ting!

The clinking cell phone made Celine's body gasp for a split second. She hurriedly read the incoming message, which turned out to be from Lucia forty minutes ago.

'From Lucia

Where are you? Are you caught in a storm? I want to inform you that our plane will be flying in the next three hours. They canceled our schedule. So, be careful. This storm is terrible and dangerous. Please give me a reply message after you read this message. I want to make sure you're okay.'

Celine muttered to Rayn a few seconds later, "They canceled the flight for the next three hours. I assume I'm not the only one who hasn't arrived at the airport."

Rayn's feelings refreshed as if lulled by the winds of heaven. But that relief only lasted for ten seconds. "Then, will you wait until the storm is over before continuing on a taxi ride? Or maybe ... asking for help from people who have already arrived at the airport to pick you up?"

Rayn is not a middle-aged man like most of the chauffeurs out there. He was very young, twenty-six years old. Therefore, the interaction between them is not too awkward.

Celine started thinking about Rayn's idea. What he said is true. Although she's not so sure if anyone were willing to pick her up amid an extreme rainstorm like this, it wouldn't be wrong to try, right?

Celine checks the signal on her cellphone, which turns out to be half filled.

"I'll try. Who knows if anyone will pick me up." Celine made a firm decision that immediately made Rayn smile with relief for the second time.

She immediately calls Lucia as soon as possible, hoping the signal on her cell phone does not suddenly disappear to thwart her plans.

She waited with a restless heart and high heels tapping the footing beneath her. Pray for Lucia to pick up her sixth phone call soon.

"Hello? Celine?"

The voice managed to make her smile. Finally!

"Lucia, can you hear me? Is my voice clear on your phone?" She asked quickly, making sure that the phone connection was fine.

"Yes. I can still hear you, even though it's not very clear. Where are you now?"

"Listen!" Celine took a deep breath. "I was stuck on Blate street about five kilometers from the airport. My car's engine died, and the water here flooded the highway. I can't get out of the car or hire a taxi online because the signal here is terrible. So, can you ask someone to pick me up? I'll send you the location after this via text message."

Lucia's breath instantly choked. He turned to look for 'prey' that could save Celine.

"Send me your location right now. I'll find someone who can pick you up there!"

"One more, there's something I w-"

Beep ...

The phone was suddenly over.

Not wanting to think anymore, Lucia immediately ran towards Simon, chatting with Jerry and some other crew in the corner of the Hall.

"Director, something bad has happened!" she reported while putting on a pitiful face, trying to get as much sympathy as possible from those people so as not to ignore her.

Simon stood up. He handed Jerry his cup of coffee and asked no less seriously, "What?"

Honestly, Lucia nodded her head. "Celine is stuck on Blate street about five kilometers from here. Her machine car broken!"

The seven crews gathered there immediately stood up simultaneously after being shocked by the news Lucia had brought for them.

Having managed to get everyone's attention, Lucia was delighted. And as such, she continued, "Celine struggled to get a signal on her cell phone and couldn't go anywhere but stay in her car. However, she called me a moment ago and asked me to find someone willing to pick her up. So ... are any of you willing to pick her up? I'll give you the location right now!"

"Wait!" interrupted Jerry. "The storm outside is dangerous. That's too risky!"

Lucia's eyes were teary, ready to cry. "What about Celine out there? Isn't she also in danger? Are you going to leave her there until the storm is over?"

Simon couldn't say anything. He can't decide on something as dangerous as this. What Lucia and Jerry said was true even though they had different opinions.

Amid the chaos that attracted the attention of those around them, this Hall suddenly became silent.

All eyes were on Simon confrontationally; they judged him who had not made a decision.

One by one, the newly arrived people entered this Hall with their half-wet clothes on. That's part of the twenty-five percent of people previously caught in the storm.

Simon's silence lasted for a full two minutes. In the end, a white-haired man sitting not far from there stood up and walked behind Lucia.

Upon crossing her, the man said firmly, leaving everyone in the Hall shocked by his decision, "Tell me the location. I'll pick her up."

Lucia turned around. Ignoring the unreliable Simon, she preferred to walk after the white-haired man from behind.

"Are you sure?"

The man stopped his steps. At the same time, his body began to emit a strange aura that made people fearfully hold their breath.

"Send the location details to my phone. Now!"
