When I reached Avon View- a few humans were leaving. I realized it would be at least a peaceful evening.
Suddenly A sweet hint of fragrance captured my attention. It was even sweeter than all the flowers I've ever got a sniff of. My heart started to race like never before. It was like gravity pulled me towards it. I tried to regain myself but my body was beyond my control. I kept chasing around to find out where it was coming from. My hand wanted to touch the flower that had such a soul-healing aroma. As I neared- I started to hear a soothing sweet song in a melodious voice- And when I looked towards the mountain steps- I knew at that moment what exactly hit me that hard- I saw a beautiful girl walking up the stairs to the mountain and singing a beautiful song that made my heart tremble. I thought I grew tired of songs- but I was wrong.
However, It wasn't the song that was pulling me towards her, It was her voice. Her voice had the strongest magnets and I was a mere piece of iron. I couldn't take my eyes off her. She was young and wouldn't be more than eighteen, dressed in all yellow, partially-dried wavy long hair falling onto her waist. Her eyes were dark blue as the deepest ocean- her lips were as pink as rose petals, and she was the most charming girl I've ever laid my eyes on. In my millions of years of life, I had seen many beautiful girls- But there was none like her, I was drowning in her like she was a whirlpool in herself.
She was holding a silver bowl with moonstone and some other ritual objects. I guessed She was there to perform one. I didn't know what wishes she carried to the Altar that day, but I knew that my forever drought-prone heart felt the touch of her first rain. All my wishes and heartaches have been answered. Her presence was all I needed. I wanted to keep her close, take her sweet scent all inside me. I kept looking at her like I found a missing piece. But I wasn't sure enough. I had a question that kept popping inside my head- "Why now."?
I had to follow her to find answers to the questions that just surfaced in my heart. I meant no harm to her and this was the only way I had to understand why I was overwhelmed by her presence. But while mindlessly trying to do so- I got distracted and accidentally stepped on a fallen branch. It made the branches move and she noticed- I saw a subtle fear in her eyes. I hid before she could see me..
She went up to the altar. I silently stood behind the pillar to observe her. She put the moonstone on the altar. But she did not look like she was in her right mind- I could hear her pacing heartbeat and racing breath. I wasn't any different either. My heart was beating so fast, that I thought it would jump right out of my chest. She was as disoriented too just like I was. I didn't understand this piece of the puzzle that had been created in my life.
She did her rituals and left. The black hole in my heart that felt filled up in her presence started emptying as she left. I stood there for hours trying to make sense of everything.
I should have run tearing up the chest of these mountains, searing through the forest, breaking through the stones, instead, I stayed there- utterly confused- just watched her leave. Her faintest scent was calming my heart the way I have never felt before. I sat down with closed eyes. I didn't realize it was already midnight.
As I opened my eyes, I realized Lucas and Salazar were standing in front of me- I could see they were puzzled. I normally don't rest this deep. But I probably slept for hours today. Lucas and Salazar picked up my scent and found me here in Avon View.
Why are you two here?.... I asked, looking at Lucas & Salazar.
We were worried about you brother- We know how you feel about this day. Said, Lucas
I feel nothing. I looked at Lucas and said in a stern voice.
Sure- Salazar said sarcastically.. we just wanted our brother not to lose control- referring to my past.
He wasn't wrong. I was young back then when it happened last time. I wiped villages- killed hundreds of people, if not thousands. Although I do not age, I have learned to master controlling my rage.
I pulled myself from that thought and looked at Lucas and Salazar with a smirk, before they could say anything else, and said 'I think I found her.'
Lucas, Salazar asked me all shocked. 'Who did you Find?'
'My mate' I said with that constant smirk still tagged to my lips.
Lucas jumped in happiness. Salazar woohoo-ed.
Brother, are you sure? Asked Lucas,
I think so, I said.
I said "I think so" cause In my thousands of years of life I have never felt the way I felt today. Being around her was something else.
Soon joined Clover and Lucas told him everything. Clover was super excited to hear about me finding my mate.
Alright, As the Omega and her protector, I should go and bring our Luna in' Clover's eyes lit up while saying that.
No Clover- You're not going to go near her- I need to figure it out myself first. I said in a stern voice.
Alright- I was just trying to help- said Clover while faking annoyance.
I know that brother, but If she is the one for me, I think I need to have it my way. I patted clover's shoulder and said.
Clover smirked.
I knew Clover very well. I knew he wouldn't just sit in silence after hearing about my mate. He was going to try and get the girl- using his way- It was his love for his eldest brother. But I wanted to take a little more time and caution- because if I had anything in life- It was time...
Lucas, Keep your eyes on our little one, Don't let him near that girl before I figure something out. I directed Lucas before I left.
