It's the middle of the night.
I suddenly woke up thirsty and soaked in sweat... I just had a very vivid dream where a huge beast with yellowish-green eyes was chasing me in a deep dark forest. I was trying to run away but I had nowhere to go. It was gloomy and dark in every direction I tried to run away- suddenly the beast jumped on me and its yellowish-green eyes were coming closer to me by each passing second. My throat dried up in fear- It in no way felt like a dream- I woke up feeling lost.
For a second, I tried to wrap my head around it. But then I decided to walk inside my room for a few minutes to shake these feelings off. As I sat down I started to feel withdrawal syndrome. It felt like some kind of drug was wearing off me. I was on fire.. my blood, my veins, my flesh. There was this static-like sensation. I slither down from the bed, drank a little water from my bottle on the bedside table- and started walking to the windows.
However, the closer I went- I realized, The windows were wide open. I must have forgotten to close it- it was so tiring after the ritual last evening- I thought to myself. I pulled the curtain to the side and looked outside. The moon is still shining full and bright in the sky. The air is fresh and rejuvenating. Looking at this beam-soaked beauty brought my heart a little comfort. This beautiful horizon sure tells a story- A story of heaven and earth, a story of peace and tranquility, and a story of my dreams. I feel connected to the moon, and that sure brings down a little harmony in my mind. It felt good to soak up the moonbeam for a while.
I knew I could just sit there and watch it until dawn, but my finals are near. I have assignments to complete the next day. So, I thought of closing the windows and going back to bed. As I walked back, I noticed two huge figures near my bedroom door. I should have seen it earlier, jumped from that window, and ran when I had the chance. But I was so distracted while enjoying the scenery- I didn't even notice when two men sneaked in and possibly stood right behind me all this time. Their eyes were glowing amber. They were beefy hunky muscular giants. I gasped in shock. As I was about to scream, One of them jumped on me and blocked my mouth with his huge palm and with one arm around my neck- keeping me restricted. I groaned, fought, and tried to kick him, all my efforts of mine were bound to fail. I was no match for even one of them, and they were two.
'You scream and the old woman gets it.' Said one of those giants in a threatening voice.
At first, I thought he was bluffing but when I looked directly into his eyes, a shiver went down my spine. The threat was real. I was sure, he wouldn't hesitate to hurt anyone- not even an old woman like my Nana. The thought of putting Nana in danger scared me even more!! I have lost my parents- I can't possibly stand to lose Nana too. Even though I was crying uncontrollably, tears constantly rolling down my cheeks, I had to suppress my voice.
'Good girl. Obeying orders like that will take you to places' The other one said while scoffing. I couldn't do anything but stare at them with rage.
The big giant took off his hands from over my mouth. I backed off and secluded myself in the corner of my room. I finally gathered a little courage and asked them 'Who are you?
You'll know soon enough .... Said one of them with his deep and harsh voice.
I was already on my toes- But not getting any answers from them made me even more anxious. And made my voice start to break….
Ww-what are y-you going to do to m-me? My voice started to break at just the thought of possibilities. The look on their faces was so terrifying, I had no idea what was going to happen to me.
Since you're obeying us and behaving well so far- let me tell you- one of the bosses has placed a special order for you. Why? We have no Idea. We don't question our orders. One of them said,
And who is Your Boss? I asked as I knew that whatever this is, it does not sound like It was going to end well for me. It could be a Drug mafia or human trafficker for all I know.
In the meantime, interrupting my thought, one of them stared right at me and said enough questions.
He turned me around and started wrapping duct tape around my hands behind my back. I started to panic and frantically said-
Ok, Ok… listen…Please… let's talk… Please… Tell me whatever you need. I'd do anything if you leave me and Nana alone. I'd work and pay you more than your boss is paying you. I won't even report this to the police. Take all the money and jewelry we have. Please. Please. Leave me… I pleaded before these merciless giants with a tearful voice...
None of them flinched or even pretended to care. They continued to wrap my hands and legs with duct tape. I realized I should have screamed earlier- It was a blunder that I did not wake Nana up. She should have known that these people are taking me somewhere- It was probably the last time She would be seeing me.
A lot of things were running through my mind. I finally took the chance- when one of these giants was wrapping my feet. I screamed- Nana Help me. Please… Please…. as loud as I could.
Suddenly the one who was standing in the distance rushed to me in a flash and shoved a huge bundle of the gauge onto my mouth then placed duct tape on my mouth. I tried to scream with it- but it was all muffled. Nana didn't hear me- She took her sleeping pills- I knew she wouldn't wake up even if I scream.
I didn't know what was happening except my tears were rolling down my cheeks. I couldn't scream, couldn't move so crying was the only thing my body could do as a response to this grave danger I was facing. He tied my feet together, so I couldn't move. I tried hard But all went in vain. He finally shoved up a syringe to my neck and drained all of the liquid into my vein, lifted me onto his shoulder, opened my windows, and jumped down.
At that moment I knew there is more to these people than what I am seeing.. and at that moment I started to realize how grave that situation was. But I was unable to react. Looks like my adrenaline dried up all at once. I felt sleepy. The last thing I saw was an SUV stopped in front of us. I passed out.
