It's An Unknown Territory

I woke up in a dimly lit room. I didn't remember how long I had been out. My pounding headache wasn't making it any easier either. I had no idea where I was. All I realized that I was lying on a bed. I sat down and tried to press my forehead with my fingers to help with the crippling headache. I was still wearing that loose t-shirt and shorts from the night before- I felt so cold. To add to my confusion, the room was pitch black. That's when I faintly started to remember things from the previous night- How I woke up to my window being wide open. I saw this mesmerizing view of a moonlit night and then… then… There were two giant f**king monsters in my room that night. Those scoundrels abducted me and brought me here.

Along with the dread I felt in my stomach and all the confusion in my head. It was so freaking hard to see around cause there was not much visibility. There were no lights in the room. I couldn't see anything. I was scared because I didn't know what I was expecting here. They still haven't harmed me, which was a relief.

I faintly tried to speak up and said 'Hello, anyone here?' I didn't get a response. I had a feeling that I was maybe all alone. I knew I had to wait until my eyes adjusted to this room. While my mind was continuously racing and I was in a constant panic mode-

I kept thinking to myself- What could they use me for... let's face the fact… I have no money- those dickheads must have already seen it while abducting me. All I have is a functional body, as of right now- I don't feel like they did anything with me. Are they holding me captive just to sell me off? Yes, they said about me being a special order. Am I going to be one of those girls who are lost in the dark and are never found by their families ever again? Am I going to be trafficked too? I kept biting my nails as I was getting increasingly nervous.

Just with these scary thoughts, my throat started to go dry. My heartbeat raised, my breathing went out of control, and there came a moment when I knew I was panicking- my palms became sweaty, and I started to shake uncontrollably, as if I was going to die right at that moment. My eyes went dark. My brain went numb. I fell from the bed onto the floor, almost blind.

I knew I couldn't let this panic attack cripple me at this moment. I needed to stand up and find my way out. But controlling a full-blown panic attack takes time. And I knew I didn't have that long with me. These kidnappers could come at any minute. I must be ready to be able to give them an element of surprise- so that I'll have a little window of time left to be able to escape- I don't know if I could- but I should at least try.

As adrenaline was taking over. I tried to calm myself down; my mind rushed through things that could help me ease up a little bit. I closed my eyes and started picturing our tiny little town. The beautiful spring, The grass flowers… My home.. And then nana.. Nana… yes… it is nana. thinking about her made me feel so easy.

I tried to picture what Nana would do if she was here with me. Nana would want me to be brave- she would want me to take the situation under my control. She would want me to fight… and I am going to fight back. I should die today, rather than dying later as some dickhead's slave.

Nana used to tell stories where the beast imprisoned a princess. But a prince came riding a unicorn, fights and defeated the beast, and saved the princess. Did I wish for a prince to save me from there? Of course. But was it going to happen? Huh, Not in a million years. I scoffed while thinking that to myself. But at least I started to ease up. That was enough for me. I knew I was not going to be sold to anyone. I would not live such a tortured life.

By this time my eyes had started to adjust to the dark room. To my luck, someone switched on a light right outside the room. A little dim light coming down from under the door was enough to help me look around. I knew it was time to start planning. I started to look around and realized it was possibly a storeroom. But unlike the one I have ever seen- it was pretty big. The walls and floors are made of huge natural stones. On the ceiling, there are paintings of figures and wolves cavorting and dancing across the crimson mural, which features at the center a silver disk of a moon encircled with the heads of nine wolves. It is a very old building, but it is beautiful like those medieval palaces they show on history channel.

Without wasting a moment, I started to search for anything that would help me escape. The room was surely big, but it was filled with a lot of junk. I needed to work fast. While going through these junk To my surprise, I finally found an iron rod. I sighed with relief. I picked it up and started to make up my mind about attacking whosoever comes in. I was possibly terrible at attacking others- I had never done that before. So I had to play the whole scenario in my head hundreds of times for the next couple of hours as I sat down and waited.

I finally could hear someone's footsteps outside. It was moving closer towards the door. I kept the iron rod hidden behind me and sat on the bed. I was breathing fast with all sorts of anticipation. It felt like this was the only chance I'd ever get in life. Luckily, as the footsteps neared, my adrenaline started taking charge. It was hard to pretend to sit quietly.

I heard someone unlock the door. I was ready. I knew I could do this.

Soon the door opened and I saw a beautiful but pale woman. She was wearing a knee length dress and with pretty lace drawstrings across the bust and with the white apron tied around the waist. She stood before me with a plate of food and a bottle of water. I knew I needed to engage her in conversation before attacking her. I had no idea if she was a human like me or one of those sick super strength bastards that kidnapped me- So my plan was clear- I would hit her and run.

I looked up at her face as she put the food on the bed near me.

It's your dinner… I'll come back to take the plates… She said in a very cold tone and started to walk out.

I knew I couldn't let her go.

Hi. I am Rain… And you are? I asked nervously

She turned around and said, I am none of your business...

Wow... that's rude... I thought to myself... I still tried to stay polite and said- I feel lonely and scared around here…

She frowned and walked towards me.. I wasn't going to waste this chance.. Before she could say anything, I suddenly stood up and threw a punch in her face.. She fell down and made a howling sound.. She tried to stand up, but I got the iron rod and hit her in the head.. I felt so terrible doing that- but I had no other way out.. Unfortunately, one blow didn't do anything to her- I gave a couple more blows until she fell down. I took the chance, and tied her hands behind her back, tearing a piece of my t-shirt, injuring myself in the process.

You're making a huge mistake.. She warned me.

Yeah, we'll see about that later.. I replied as I was tying her up tight.

As soon as I was done, I ran outside.. I locked the door from outside and stuck the iron rod to the hinge.

I knew I probably was going to screw it up- But I could try not to as long as I could..
