HER DEAD END

"Mary my dear, you have grown up to be a fine young lady. I'm so glad", Madam Rose complimented Mary who was already full of joy having found the woman who raised her before grandmother adopted her.

We were seated in a restaurant right beside the Orphanage. Madam Rose had bought us some doughnuts and fruit juice.

Madam Rose wasn't very educated but she did well when expressing herself in the English language. She was a caregiver even before she started working at Grace Orphanage.

"Thank you for the refreshments ma", Amanda thanked Madam Rose.

"I wish to do more for you my dear but I have a question for you. Two actually", Madam Rose said.

"Okay ma, we're all ears", Amanda said.

"Did you talk to anyone before coming to meet me? Also, who told you this was where I worked?"

"We met with the manager before coming here ma. And it was the receptionist that directed us", Amanda said.

"The manager? You mean Mrs Grace?!"

"Yes ma"
