It seemed like a dead end now that Madam Rose was dead.
The police had refused to further investigate the death of Madam Rose. Due to the manner of her death, it was believed she had committed suicide.
It was twelve days since Madam Rose had died but Amanda had not returned to her normal self. She was still suffering from the trauma she experienced that day.
Last night, I overheard mom and dad deliberating on whether Amanda should be taken to see a psychiatrist. I was scared for her. I didn't want to lose her again.
The following day, I decided to do something about the situation.
"Hey", I said as I walked into Amanda's bedroom. She was still on her bed.
"Hey", she said as she sat up.
"Are you okay? Don't lie"
"I'm fine. I'll be fine, right?"
"Of course you will. I promise you I'm going to seek justice for Madam Rose. I promise"
"No"
"No?"
"Don't do anything. I beg of you. I don't want anyone getting hurt again."
